Coz a deficit on our 2nd or 3rd round picks won't effect the Bing thing. The points won't come off our 1st.
Are you sure Scrappy?
My reading, and the Tom Green/Liam Henry deficits of 2019, would indicate a deficit from one year hits the first available pick in the second.
I will be very pleased if you can point to something that says the opposite.

I'm fairly confident it affects the equivalent round. Those two were taken in the first round.

My reading is that it comes of the "equivalent " future pick. In your quoted case that 1st round pick wasn't available so it came off the next available.

Looking at our pick in the first round it could well net a absolute star or a complete bust and nothing between - our draft gurus will have to be on the ball with this draft , however Windhager is a no brainer - he looks the goods so what ever the fall out of our first round pick we have a very good player to slip into the side.

must say even though only seen a snippet there’s a lot to like about Windhager size, movement- he does look versatile and a touch of Bont there in the movement (no not saying he’s the next Bont at all) but like the way he moves through traffic

Speaking of our first pick, who are we gonna grab at pick 9?

Also, if we happen to get a second 1st round pick as they have reported we are trying to get (say, Brisbane’s pick 18), who is going to partner our pick 9?

Would love Ward if he is available, but it seems like Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera is rocketing up the rankings with a great end to the year to be around a top 10 pick. I think he makes a lot of sense. Sinn would also fill a need.

Like any elite sport its when you get to the very top level that any technique flaws are found out.
Idk although it’s rare some players improve their kicking techniques

1. Jobe Watson,

2. Jack crisp
I think with Mitch, his kicking can be worked but considering how strong the other parts of his game are mainly strength and power perhaps we can deal with it.

Wanganeen-Milera is a completely outside player right? I think we’re looking for someone who can do both. Strong in the contest and then silky smooth on the outside. Sinn another HBF

Yes, I think he is, but not sure we need another on the inside, at least for me our biggest issue is the outside distribution especially if Hill isn't playing in midfield. Wanganeen-Milera is considered the best kick in the draft which could really help out. Ward would be perfect as he can do both, but I'm not expecting him to be available. If we can get someone who is well-balanced great, but I'd be looking at their outside game first.

I agree we need outside I just would like them to at least be semi comfortable in the contest at least.

He looks bloody fantastic. Much higger potential than Mitcho.

That's definitely understandable and if there is someone that is comfortable doing both to a high standard I'd take it in a heartbeat, but the only ones I've seem are more HFF players like Draper

Callaghan obviously out of our pick but Ward is said to be very balanced, Draper I thought of but injured. Erasmus is good but likely to get snapped up by a WA team.

Yep, I'd take any of Callaghan, Erasmus or Ward if available. Ward looks perfect but because of that I don't think he ends up at out pick. Rachele is tempting but not sure we need someone who likely spends a few years as a small forward. That's why I'm leaning towards Wanganeen-Milera and hoping some of the kids like Bytel or the NGA's can cover him inside.

If the NGAs come through well I think W-M could be a great get. A haul of classy outside mid, tall inside/outside midfielder, medium midfielder-forward is essentially every type of midfielder possible all coming into the club at once.

I want Ward or Rachele. Sinn and Sonsie both good options too. Rachele looks like he should be that Connor Rozee style forward mid and really grown on me. Not what we need but he looks a talent. Wanganeen-Milera looks a gun but he looks like one that has high go home factor. You'd want to interview him and try to work out his head space.

Still think Draper is a talent.

I might be in the minority but i also want Rachelle. Feel like he'll be gone, as will Ward.

Wang-Mil I'm not so keen on. Don't want him to turn out like a SPS.

People need to stop sh1tting their pants over our GNA;s , yes it would be nice to get them at a reasonable price but no good giving up everything just because they are our NGA's .
I'm sure the club have looked at plenty of other kids as they are not just going to sell the farm to get two kids who should be at least in the high twenty's , that crap from Cal saying they have shot up bla bla bla ,, How ?
Anyway I'm sure if they we not linked to us via NGA 99% of the people on here would have hardly have known who they are , If we get them for a pick which the club thinks is fair that's great , lets not go silly about it though and get pantsed
I don't see any issue with fans getting excited about the possibility of getting two highly rated players for very little.

It would be a really nice bonus in a year we want to hit the draft but have a pretty ordinary draft hand.

Likewise it would also be very disappointing to finally get an NGA player and see us miss out due to the new rules.

Missing out seems unlikely to me, but hearing how much they might be rated by some makes me slightly nervous.

And suggesting they can't rise due to not playing footy is off the mark IMO. Nick Cox didn't play a game last year and wasn't predicted to go as high as he did at the start of the year.

I rate Windhager the higher of the two anyway. Owens played a couple of good games on a wing and the middle but his form is a lot less exposed and he's a bit of a projection like Alison was.
I reckon Owens seems like he has a pretty high ceiling. If he can turn into a contested inside mid he's going to be a weapon. But he may also end up a bust.

Windhanger looks a natural footballer and less likely to be a bust IMO.
