I disagree, our second half of the year was our Dunny bomb period and it worked. The clean slow movement was absolute sh*t early on. Good forwards can make ugly beautiful. Most modern sides play chaos footy and it's still the most effective footy at the moment.
Interesting! Does that mean the midfield doesn't require effective accurate disposal? Chaos fast and accurate and effective with pieces of guided 'smart' bomb style? Their has to be the beautiful game that incorporates both .the middle path..

With his feet

Ash Hansen was a gun that had serious injury issues and Ablett was guy who couldn't handle the attention. 3 goals in the only GF he played in. Hansen was the prototype modern swingman too. I think he kicked a couple of goals in the Sydney v WC GF. They used to win when he played and lose when he missed.

There have been some absolute lemons that have medals but those guys weren't great examples.
Hansen wasn't the prototype for anything, He never got that many disposals, inside fifties, tackles contested possessions/marks he had one good year in 2005 and with him kicking two goals in the 2006 GF with Fletcher, Judd and Kerr kicking it to you I think even I could of snagged a couple. Ablett had some potential his 2007 was promising but remember that years gf was won by 119 points and they had 11 different goal scorers. I don't read to much into that game.

This morning I ran into an old contact who helps out an AFL club in recruiting , and I asked him who Hobbs is more like - J Selwood or Dunstan. He said “more like Dusty Martin than those two”. Couldn’t get much else out of him apart from him rating Callaghan as best in it , and not rating Erasmus at all. He reviews their game recordings.
Get him!

Yes ..... at the moment ...... Footy goes through different phases .....chaos footy didn't work too well for the Tigers this year

Injury and clubs like us picking off their depth killed them. A bit like Lyon era Saints they probably didn't develop enough kids playing a very steady line up too. Melbourne played chaos as did the Dogs. WCE are the only side to have won a premiership using a disposal game since the peak Hawks who could do a bit of both. The Cats are the best home and away team in the regular season playing keepings off but it falls over in finals when tempo and one o one footy start to make players accountable.
