I love this. Can't help but to get caught up a bit in it myself.
I especially love the reaction, the pride and the affection his dad shows. Obviously a close family and they all are there to share this moment with him. Here's hoping there's many many more to come!

I love how Mav is embracing being a Saints man. He didn't have to do that, he has no connection to Brandon. Love reading stuff like that.
He's second cousin is Leppa. Maybe he knew Brandon would prefer to stay in Victoria? Or may have felt like it could appear like nepotism to draft him. Who knows. Bloody happy we got him though!

Mav IS a member of the leadership group, so it may not be just a random act. Nevertheless, he has been remarkable since he's come to the Saints.
Its great if we end up with a core group of young guys who all fit in well together.

And not particularly lacking confidence, which I thought he might. It would be very difficult to do. Something about that kid. I can't put my finger on his playing style, but he reminds me of someone and its peeing me off!Thought the same! Funny bugger. Heaps of personality by the looks of it!
He's confident without being cocky. A delicate balance that he's nailed. I reckon he'll be very popular at the club.
Not sure who he reminds me of yet. Hopefully a premiership winning player!

I have told this story a few times but Mav is a fantastic representative - he stood and listened to this old guy at the junction oval function for about 15 minutes while this old fella went into intimate details about JO back in the 1950s. Most of the other players just ran past him, mav stood and listened to the old guy until he was finished. He was absolutely respectful to an old boy who didn't look like he had many people listen to him any more. Lovely gesture from a young man who could easily have just done a runner. He always chats at the club events too. He's a real asset.
They can spot it alright, keeping it is another thing. Imagine if they still had Yeo, Longer and Aish. Among others as well. Still think the Pies screwed up with Karnezis.

Sounds like he's a potential Dempster replacement from the article.
He sounds like a good-un and I like that he is supposed to be so hard to beat in a 1-on-1 contest and brave, but that he also has good speed to go with it and even better, a ripper kick. All we may need now is for him to have another bit of a growth spurt and to get his tank up to the required level and we could really have someone in a few years time.

Very happy we got Brandon as I think we will develop him into a wingmen/outside mid! I wonder if Brisbane had of taken Brandon whether we would have selected Mathieson?
