Just means that we "need" a handful of the current flankers to step up and make that transition to midfield. As the inside players improve, I would think Savage may return to the midfield role he came to us as. Newnes will hopefully keep improving year after year and be a quality mid in his own right, rather than a rotating in flanker as he is right now. Of the rest, McKenzie would be my pick to make the transition. He's a tough bugger so hopefully shouldn't have much problems winning his own ball, while the quality overhead marking, neat disposal and good turn of pace should ideally ensure the "outside" game won't be a problem.
Yeah that was the first thing that I saw in his highlights as well. Moves very quick and seems to have a much better disposal accuracy than Gilbo so WIN WINreminds me of gilbo the way he runs in straight lines, but with a better kick!
How good:
I hope so. A precision kicking Gram is exactly what we need. He had his knockers but he was a bees away from being a Norm Smith winner.Could Brandon be like the new Jason Gram, but without the floaty kicks, the sleeve tattoo and the off field baggage?
It's bad enough likening kids to ONE champion, let alone THREE! Easy tiger. There is definitely a mix of Pendlebury, Dal Santo and Hodge about him with a long accurate left foot kick, strong overhead marking skills and an ability to play multiple positions across half back, midfield, half forward.
Looks like a very good pick up for pick 40 and you can see why a lot of clubs were interested in him.

For mine, he's a mix of Gilbert with Webster's boot. That's certainly good enough for me.
Have a look at his footage. He's a great mark.I'd doubt if he's anywhere near Gilbert's contested marking ability.

Personally, while others seem to be likening him to Birchall, I see him ultimately as our answer to Isaac Smith.
White is 188cm 79kg, Smith is 188cm 82kg. Both are lovely long left-foot kicks, and while Smith is a genuine jet, White himself is very quick.
Where Smith has Brandon is his tank - he ran a 14.6 beep in his draft year - and White's endurance is listed as an issue at the moment; the issue there is that Smith was 22 when he was drafted, and Brandon is only 18. He's got time to build a tank.
Had goose bumps .. If he cares that much I'm glad he's on our sideLove this clip.
Personally I wouldn't be moving Sav anywhere yet. He and Roberton are the only half backs who have shown they can consistently both rack up touches and use it well. Until someone else starts doing it I'd be keeping him where he is.The person who should be a bit nervous, I suspect, is Sav. This is clearly a bit more of a nudge for him to get out of the comfy half-back-flanker role, and to take the responsibility of going into the wing.
Yup. Put McKenzie or Webster up the ground.Personally I wouldn't be moving Sav anywhere yet. He and Roberton are the only half backs who have shown they can consistently both rack up touches and use it well. Until someone else starts doing it I'd be keeping him where he is.
His AFL review suggested he needs to build up his tank first. No sub role , so i wouldn't go overboard suggesting he will play for sure.Turns 19 in January ... anyone in the know reckon he will get games in 2016?
