It's a shame Ollie Robinson couldn't get his papers sorted in time. He should have been much further up in the keeper queue, then we wouldn't be playing Bethell and likely getting the piss ripped out of us for doing so.

This is Pope's 4th test as keeper, always as a stand in. He batted 3 while keeper in one and a half tests v Pak in 2022 and scored plenty of runs.

Now is the perfect time for the Stokes-O'Rourke player swap.

Apparently Robinson is on route to NZ now & should be keeping in the next 2 tests...Pope's just doing another fill in job.

England having two Ollie Robinsons is weird. Not like it's a common name. Has there ever been two players with the same name in the same side before?

When I heard England were flying Ollie Robinson out I thought they were talking about the bowler rather than another keeper.

Another pretty good session for us, just losing the one wicket for 89 runs.

England will be regretting bowling first unless we collapse in the last session which isn't looking likely.

In NZ it's generally bowl first but make it count or else, flattens right out and is a beauty to bat on.

Australia had two Wayne Phillips’ within the same 7-8 years

Edit: just checked, it was within 6.

The second of them I remember came in for one test against India - famous for the century Tendulkar made at 18 years of age in Perth in 1992

Teams often get sucked into green looking pitches in NZ which aren't as helpful as they look for bowlers which is the case today.

That being said the England bowlers haven't bowled that well so far, the likes of Broad and Anderson would've got more out of it.
