....... and Epping based on last years results and this years recruits.

Still early days and I am sure clubs are still talking to potential new players joining them that will shape another very even Division 3 in 2025 you would expect.
Think he means Kilmore, reservoir and Ivanhoe to overtake Mernda and turtles.

Another gone from turtles, Jack Fitzgerald to northcote park past senior VC.

Top 3 battle between stars, laurimar, epping and Ivanhoe early on. Reservoir, kilmore, mernda battling for 5th imo.
As much as I want the Hoes up there, they’ve lost Close to retirement and also Selwood and Otten too. They’re all mighty big losses , but credit to the club for their proactive recruitment so far.

Agree Biggy - massive losses in those three for sure and very hard to replace that sort of quality.

Have had a crack re recruiting though and socials saying they signed another one last night.

Think Stars, Epping, Laurimer favourites and I expect Mernda to still be strong.

Hoes to be in a tight midfield with Kinglake, Kilmore and Eltham.

West, Lalor and Resa lower but all competitive.

Selwood played 6 games, Otten played 7 and Close played 3.

Ivanhoe get Xavier Mitchell in who will be one of the best in the comp, Drapac back full time, Stead and Mclinden who are elite while Liam Jacob and Charlie Robinson will further strengthen them, not to mention the other signings which bolster depth.

No need to play it down, you’d be expecting to challenge top 3 with the list that has been built.

For once Berty - I hope you are right! 😝

But I agree, and Nick Godfrey has done a great job so far in the off season with his recruiting and our list overall looks to run deeper than last year.

Behave yourself Champ. Those 3 hardly played and the incoming ins are far far greater value. The most important ability is availability.

You gents might be relatively new to this Div but no matter how much you talk it down you won’t be flying under any radars.

Thanks Rusted .... no one calls me Champ, it's usually Chump...I'll take it :)

The other thing is IF i think we are in a really strong position I wouldn't play it down, especially on BF as I doubt any clubs take any of this seriously. It's just a place for people to have some fun. In 2022, I said we had the best list, finished on top and we were the best team by some margin. Thankfully we won it (1 point) as things can happen in finals. Phew!

What I am suggesting is that we lost some quality in those guys mentioned, that I think Stars, Epping and Laurimar are the fav's at this stage, we are in the next big bunch and we have improved our depth and availability - absolutely. But at this stage I don't think it places us above the 3 teams I suggest are leading the pack. If others do, then that's great.

Hopefully we get a few more that we are talking to and it might put us up there with the other 3 as a red hot chance!

It's nice to be relevant again and have a buzz happening at our club and from others externally.

Apologies, I’ll ensure I use Chump in future. 😂

Maxy, did he play in your 19s or magoos this year?
Played 1 reserves game in 2022, 9 senior games at Old Ivanhoe in 2021, and 2019 had a great first year as a senior player after playing 19s in 2018. Can only assume the talent is still there and he will be firing after shaking the cobwebs off early in the season.

Very versatile player. Lost some interest after covid

Will Resevoir actually worry the top 5-6 teams? Yes they have recruited some quality players.
But they are still going to have a garbage bottom 8-10 every Saturday.

with a decent draw I think they will win about 5-6 games

If they keep recruiting the way they are at the moment they could push for finals in what is a very even comp....7 or 8 wins gets you in the top 5?

Was told at the pub on Saturday that they were up to their eyeballs in Matty Dennis, but eventually were out bid by Pascoe Vale. The package paid to him in the end by PV was outrageous - if correct.

So you would think they still have the money, connections and thinking to keep chasing some top end talent.
