What does it matter if it’s Nicks work or not?? He took matters into hes own hands and played on and slotted a goal.

Not sure if your being serious now ?

Of course I'm serious and of course it matters.

Pendles likely also slots it.

Great finish and quick thinking.

It matter because unlike last year his front half game has disappeared.

His development has clearly stagnated and has been worked out to a degree.

Nick best footy came last year when he was last in the running handball chain delivering inside 50, running at goals or swooping on an inside 50 spillage and goaling.

He has not been able to get that game going this year and clearly the team is also stuttering without that impact.

It's laughable that pies fans are happy to have him stagnate as a 3rd year player and NOT want him to round out his game. ****ing hilarious actually.
It's like wishing Nathan Buckley stayed at HB back in 1998.

You realise Judd was traded for Kennedy ( plus more) so sounds more like a hallucination.

Lynch instantly turned into a spud when Judd left and was one at the Pies
Steady now fella.
You do realize that Lynch was by far the best Quinten to ever play the game.

*And before anyone mentions Narkle, it is spelt different.

So we have established you have a bad memory. Sure Judd won a Brownlow as
a 20 yr old despite being a bad kick

Judd wasn’t a great kick

How's your memory sector? Looking pretty shit or bias according to the articles of teh day...

"One big plus is that he is a goal-kicking midfielder. True, his kicking can, at times, look sloppy, as the ball occasionally floats or loses trajectory and height. There is a technical flaw in the way he drops the ball to his foot."

Or BF thread. 65% KE.

He has been our best player in 4 of our 7 games, and probably in best 3 in other 2 games.

He would be clearly leading our BnF. I hate to burst your little tirade bubble, but it ain’t Daics who is struggling. Have a look at Crisp, Sidebottom and co first

That little childish dance has moved him into pounchablke face territory

the smugness is not lost on the modesty or humility you try to pretend you have you little campaigner.

Two of my Collingwood supporters have said hes regressed this year
Really? Punchable?

How about you go and punch a wall or yell at someone else’s kid for being too loud.

Chill out mate.

I think many of the plus 28s yos have struggled, but I also think Nicks game has stagnated and his forward half game, his physicality has not improved at all.

My "Tirade" lol? Is that pies fans are to protective and blind to his flaws nor do I agree that him staying "as is", is a good thing for him or us.

You guys defend imhim as if he is a 23 to 25 yo finished product and what you see is what you get rather then a 3rd year player with growth and development.

The only reason people go the whole who wants them to get hard ball when there so good outside are those that don't believe the player is capable of it so redirect the criticism.

When you are talking GOATS they have a very very rounded game.

Groin injuries robbed Judd of his kicking and his pace. Testament to his greatness that he changed to become a contested beast. As good as he was at Carlton he was a shadow of the player he was at WC

He couldn't hit moving targets at WC with consistency and in fact he improved with age.

What he did amazing at WC was break and kick at goals, he also yes hit fwds but not on an elite standard level.

Ok imo yes he does.

He is a 3rd year player and largely hasn't developed a whole lot from year 2 to year 3.

He is a generational talent that has the tools to be a player you build your team on but not with that weakness as he can be shut down or limited.
Have you noticed his inside 50 kick has not been as accurate or as effective this year vs last or his kicks on goal or his forward half work in general is down??

This is due to teh extra physical attention and detail into stopping his natural outside game.
The only way to break it is physically do so.

Lachie Neale doesn't often get tagged because he stands up physically and plays inside game when people try, then as the grind happens later gets on the outside.

Nathan Buckley or Scott Pendlebury to start a team who would you pick?

The answer to that tells me all I need to know about how you view the game.
There is no wrong answer, though I would take Pendles.
I would rather a player who makes those around him better, than someone trying to do it all himself.

Maybe that is why they call it a team game.

You do realise inside mids have lower KE than outside chipscaps?

Was that article written by Emma Quayle judging his ball drop?

Anyway this isn’t a Chris Judd thread

The more pertinent question.is
“ Is NDs performance this year down because the Pies are 50:50 side this year or is Pies performance down this year because ND is has dropped Off this year?”

If it is the former it would seem to confirm that ND is a long way off the goat as both GAJ and Judd were able to transform the teams they were traded to

It's not his defensive game.

He runs as hard as any and often makes multiple tackles/attempts/pressure.

It's the actual crash and bash of footy that he needs big improvements on and also tackling front on with his shoulder fwd, rather then reaching in head back, scared of contact with oncoming players.

Also the far more accomplished mids are mids with only the capability to be at a Pendles, Riccuito, Harvey et el level.

Nick clearly has a few tools in his kit that could elevate him above that level should he develop the physical side and his forward half game.

But yes the thread overall was a pisstake and really shouldn't have been created.
He will never and should never be a crash and bash footballer- would get slaughtered by B graders trying that caper. Just cut out the smarty pants head flying backwards in tackles and actually drive forward with his strong legs and core when he is tackling - use his leg speed to impact- - it is actually a very easy fix of technique.

Gaz didn't transform any team.

At Geelong he was an inconsistent fwd who after many preseasons pulled his finger out to transform himself to the games elite, which also coincided with Geelong peaking and the introduction of the hard NUT Selwood who fed him.
He was undoubtedly a champion player who excelled but was not soley why Geelong became what they did

GC Ablett was left to his own devices and imo not paid the due respect by the then newb Coach Buckley (amoungst many of the time coaches who phased out the tagger) which subsequently lost us a game to them. But GC overall stayed bot 4.

As for Judd he wasn't an inside mid at WC they fed him the ball and opened running lanes and space to have thier dominat rucks tap to allowing him to use his pace to burnbthe opposition midfield.

The inside mid was the OP version at Carlton. Judd drastically changed his game and become a less damaging outside type and more elite inside consistent mid feeding Squibs, Murphy and co with the occasionalglympse of his WC days..

He absolutely should be smashing in on occasions that he is required too, and further using his body better in the contest.

This is not saying he needs to be doing it all the time, it's about having it in his tool kit and using it throughout a game.

The best all round mid I've seen play the game is N.Buckley.
Nick I hope is trying to round his game out closer to Bucks then GWS - Kelly who I would currently liken him too (If anyone cares to remember his year 1 to 3 people were claiming him the next best of).

You got the delusional Pies fans like Fadge and Jock (enjoy your day off lol)

Then you’ve got your reasonable Pies fan who I enjoy conversing with ITT

I do however look forward to Fadges dumb opinion

Obvious ‘newbie’ troll is obvious!
