Not worth the trouble for me. I finish uni at 4:30, so will listen to SEN on the way home...I imagine that they would be all over the Stevens press conference.
Finish work around 8pm, will catch up with the news then.

I'm sure there are BF poster's here that will be all over it by then.

SEN have just reported that the press conference is scheduled for 4pm Melbourne time.

Somebody close to Nick has revealed to SEN that he will choose surgery straight away rather than resting to see if the inuury heals by itself.

Good luck to Stevens. A Huge loss in a re-building side. Lance is going to have to really step up Sunday.

Hope to see Stevo back by the second half of the season.

I don't think Lance will go too well on Sunday, but he could make up for it by ironing a few blokes out.

Get him fit for the finals :D

Im not so sure there will be finals if he will be out for majority of the season. I am shattered by this news as much as any supporter, but mainly because i thought we would return to finals footy this year. To be honest, after the NAB cup win, i thought anything less will be unacceptable. For those who willingly accept this as a growing year, and seem to be ok just to give someone else a go i say where have you been for the last several seasons?

They have been down for so long now, and to hear that we will ONLY NOW start the revival is crap. We have been starting the revival ever since we recruited andrew walker at pick 2, excuses cant cut it this year, and if carlton only just make up the numbers this year, i will be uterly dissapointed. What really annoys me is Pagans mentality, as much as i like him, i hate him hiding behind the excuses of carlton as a young team, he has done that for far too long now. He has the list this year to make finals, and im worried that nick stevens loss will not only add to onfield dissapointment, but also give Pagan another excuse to hide behind everytime we loose.

We should be able to win enough games without Nick Stevens, but im not so sure we will. For every loyal supporter of carlton, im sure like me there has been a feeling this year that we will make the finals, even if we cant justify it. Ill be dissapointed not to watch one of my favourite guys play, but carlton must prove their supporters right this year, because i dont know how much longer i can stand to be proven wrong.

Carn' the Blues, give em hell.

On SEN at the moment...

Stevo is having an op and is out for the season...

Prolapsed disc in his neck and putting pressure on the nerves on his left side and his spinal cord...

option was to have 8-10 weeks off and see how it was or operate now... chose the op obviously...

All four specialist basically said the same thing...

Stevo in 2008, bigger and better!

He is out for the rest of the season.

He is having an operation next week.

NiIck has a prolapsed disc in his neck. Putting pressure on a nerve to the left hand side of his neck as well as his spinal.

There is a risk but advances in neurosurgery these days is excellent.

Nick says they explored every option and this is the best way to go.

Confident they can fix it and come back next season.

I don't know that point scoring is the main issue here. Everyone is concerned about Stevo and concerned about how the team will adjust without him. They are less concerned about who broke which story.

I said that any injury to the neck is very serious, any sort of wrong movement could cause a very, very serious injury. I knew that something was wrong with Stevens, and that he would not play at the weekend, and it has been reported he is out for the season.

I was told I was silly, and that his scans were a precaution and that he would most certaintly play against West Coast. Good call :thumbsu:

I was shot down and ridiculed, the line "it's funny, I would have never expected all of Carlton Supporters to be doctors aswell" from some muppet sticks out. Once again, top call :thumbsu:

It's very bad for Nick, who was playing some great football this season, but it's better he gets the surgery ASAP and doesn't risk doing any further damage and gets back for next season. If he can continue his career. It will be very, very hard to fill his void in the CFC team, but the youngsters must step up even more now. Hopefully Luke Blackwell gets his turn this week
