Hope Howe does play and is not too hampered by his ankle. Agree with others that if he does not play then Moore has to come in. Not ideal but nor is losing Howe what we would most want to see happen. Moore also has pace which Reid definitely lacks at this stage of his career. Anyway let's wait and see what eventuates.

Disagree, I think we play worse in wet and greasy conditions these days. Being the high possession team we are, we like to use a lot of handball and slippery conditions go against the way we like to move the footy.
Add to that the fact Cox becomes null and void in wet weather I'll take a dry day over rain anytime.

Heard today off a health professional that Howe sustained a syndesmosis injury. Can be fairly serious. Obviously take this with a grain of salt but if true I wonder how effective a jab is for 3 hours so he can help us win a flag.

I would NOT play Howe if he is not above 90% at the least. In 2011 granny, our boys were out of steam and a couple players were playing with niggles, and it showed. I would much rather play Moore or Reid down back, instead of an injured Howe. But the doctors know what is best, and won't play him if he won't be able to do what he does best.

- structural, in which case he’s out and no chance of playing (unlikely I would have thought, given that he went back on the field )

- non-structural, in which case it’d be far too early to be even thinking about it - his docs would be making sure that he’s being given the best chance of recovery. It’s Thursday’s problem.

- he’s perfectly fine, he’ll play, someone is just playing mind games.
