Port Adelaide are the real deal. That game was full of clangers and desperation, however when they scored goals they did them effortlessly. If not for a few injuries tonight, even after their loss, I would still have marked them as a top four team. Now maybe just outside the four. Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t be happier with Port losing in round 1. Let’s just not get ahead of ourselves….yet!
Doesn't that say more about the Lions, hence when they decided to play like a top 8 side late in the 3rd and entire 4th quarter, Port Power couldn't keep up with them. Had the Lions kicked straighter this would have been easy 5 goals win to the Lions despite playing like a bottom 4 side for 2.5 quarters.

I thought Pear went okay for much of the match. Brisbane lifted in the last and started playing so much better than they had.
Don't write Pear off just yet. They'll be there in September and most likely we will not.

This was more enjoyable game than the Prelim Final. It was over in 10mins after the laughing. I kinda felt sorry for them.

Tonight, they were drinking their bathwater at HT.Then got rolled later in the match. Much more satisfying.

Riley Bonner so much hype, never seen it, field kicking is seriously shit

The AFL will want Clarko to either go to the suns or go down to tassie and get a club happening down there.

they wont allow Clarko to go to port.. because Port are in $13+ million dollars in debt and cant afford to pay clarko without going cap in hand to the AFL for another handout..

and even if Clarko did miraculously end up at port they’d still be no better than they are now. its not just ken, their players are the worlds greatest downhill skiers that crumble at the first sign of pressure. great at beating up the poor sides and go missing against the better sides and its been like this for years, not even clarkson can fix that now.. it ingrained. they simply just aren't that good.

This seems to be the consensus over yonder:

“A feeble team coached by a feeble man employed by a feeble tv personality”

What’s the stat that Kenny is about to claim? By the second or third round he’ll have the record for most games coached without making a GF - something like that😄

Brad Scott has the longest consecutive streak without a Grand Final (211 games)

Kern's currently at 204 games without a grand final so he'll overtake Scott this year.

Both Bill Stephen (256 games) and Terry Wallace (247 games) have coached more games, but both coached two clubs and their stints weren't consecutive.

To be honest, we want Port to win H&A games and sign Kenny for a contract extension.

All this losing does, is making them yearn for Clarko.
AFL won't let them spend the cash to get Clarko.

Bassett will be their next coach.

I also don't think Clarko would go to Port.

Their list is built around a group of senior players who are in the twilight of their career.

They have a huge talent gulf in their list when it comes to players who are in their mid to late 20s as they traded their future away for Ryder, Dixon etc.

They're on the verge of needing a rebuild so I can't see their list being appealing to a coach like Clarko.
