Thats not correct at all. Umpires can tell players to stop or they will blow a free. However it was soft.
They should not be telling them to stop for things like that.
And no they shouldn’t be giving any warnings.
It’s either a free or it’s not.
So do you see them saying, “hmm that was a high tackle, if you do it again I’ll pay a free.”

The AFL said a few years ago they were cracking down on players hitting their opponents. We didnt see the lead up.

That’s fine, pay free if warranted, but even cracking down I don’t see that as close to a free

Anyone think Fagan has completely slipped under the radar in terms of criticism?

Out in straight sets in 19 and 21, home prelim loss in 20.

Two x top two finishes and a top four finish and hasn’t even cracked it for a GF.

If that was the coach of an SA or WA team, he’d be under the microscope to within an inch of his life.

So why isn’t he?

Hinkley wasn't under the microscope until Port went 0-3 (and now 0-4) this year. Scott has never been, despite an even worse record.

Really, the media is never targeting a coach who is getting deep in finals regularly. It's when they fall apart, or if they're a basketcase off field, is when they get targeted.
