They can't pay him out (as the AFL has final say over whether they can) so he will 100% be the coach next year

Wether there’s a new coach or not. There is gonna be an exodus. Retirement etc. Even a new coach would have the same scenario. Give him his due. He’s managed it well longevity wise. With backlash and all. Soft Chair. He’s played it supremely.

the only time they really ever look dangerous is against the bottom 8 teams.. and it has been like this for years now.

i dont know if there has been a more successfully compiled list of downhill skiiers in the history of the game.. they’d be better off sending them to the winter olympics. they’d come back with a few dozen gold medals.

Winning the first showdown this year was something special, winning in round 23 would be very amusing, especially if it doesn't spell the end for Kern.

Imagine the melts on the Port board, and they'll have to carry that loss with them for the entire off-season!

I’m getting quite concerned now Poor Ken. It’s not fair at all, he has done such an amazing job and he needs to be left to continue! This is getting sadly reminiscent of Ross’s last days at Fremantle. Please save Ken. He just needs one more chance!!

I can’t see him going there honestly. I think it will be GWS or stay in Victoria. I don’t know how Poort would be able to pay him what he wants for one, and also have the capacity to resource the football department etc to his liking.

She is probably wrong there. AFL have mandated clubs with heavy AFL support and debt have that 6 month pay out.


Unless Kochie and KT asked for an exception for Ken. Would be another example of their poor business acumen if they did. I guess you don't rack up $10m debt (with nothing good coming from it) making good decisions.

Caro is wrong about a lot of things, but she was the only person in the media who knew about Ken's extension clause in his previous contract.
