Had my first run in with a bonafide port floggo today at work.

Knew he was a port supporter from his car, and i'm walking in front of him in the office, and he literally jumps into a tirade about the crows being jealous of port getting JHF (this is to my back), and that Rankine is a ******** and he knows him from junior footy, before saying "you're a crows supporter aren't you, I can just tell by looking at you".

Then literally spends 5 mins saying how s**t we are still because we beat North and WC twice, and even then we struggled, and that the showdown was a fluke and our best players are Sloane and Walker and they'll be gone end of next year.

I literally said nothing to the guy to start any conversation initially.

When he finally left I was like

Nah, Port miss the 8 next year and Ken wont be there in 2024.

Port won’t miss the 8 next year..

they finished 10th.. and will get a soft draw next year..

once again they will win a lot of games downhill skiing agains the lower sides and will get beaten up on by the top 8 sides..

they‘ll finish in the 8 and get bundled out up in the finals in the first or second week..

port are far too flakey and have holes all over their list.

But hopefully it’s enough to earn Ken a 3 year deal.

the real finals contenders next year will be Dees, Geelong, tigers, Brisbane, Pies and swans. Smokey could be Carlton, but you know, it is Carlolton, they could also end up bottom 4!..

everyone else will be passengers along for the ride.

No, but good to see being a port floggo isn't an isolated incident.

But the worry is they have JHF, Rozee and Butters - all likely A grade mids who are young and will be there for years to come. Their engine room is set and now its just building around that - they can trade in KPD's and they have Marshall and Georgiades along with a few others that can hit the scorboard and most are young. They won't be going through the traditional rebuild and bottoming right out

For us to better them, Rankine and Rachele need to become midfielders and we need a few of Pedlar, Taylor, Soligo to really step up to help out Berry in the guts to compete. Where we have it over them is in the forward department - Thilthorpe will hopefully go on to be a huge presence for us there, Fogarty kicks on to become a very dynamic aggressive full forward and Rankine / Rachele will rotate through there - could be lethal in time

I reckon it’s:

Contenders - Geelong, Brisbane, Swans*, Melbourne, Freo, Collingwood

Will be decent - Port, Carlton, Richmond, Bulldogs, us**

Shit - Essendon, Gold Coast, Hawthorn, GWS, West Coast, St Kilda, North

* tho I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped right back this year
