Gonna be some great players in Brisbane missing out on first team football, wonder if we'll pick up any scraps of theirs at the end of next season
Put a decent offer in front of Keidean Coleman - he’s a emerging gun who has qualities we need…elite ball user, young, left footer, great tackler.

When do we lose Chayce Jones? Hopefully the VFL introduce a very generous compensation scheme intended for the Vic clubs and forget we have a player.

Before we get rid of him, I'd see like to see him let off the defensive leash and be tried on the ball with a free reign to play attacking football.

To me he seems like a "see ball, get ball" type player with a low defensive IQ. I'm still not quite ready to write him off just yet, I still think there's hope that he's been poorly utilised and could be someone who could blossom under a new coach.

I think our defensive makeup is pretty spot on

EXCEPT

I feel 1 of Parnell/Jones needs to go to a wing.

1 is fine down back, I like their skills coming out of the D50

But both is a liability as one will be outmatched.

So unleash one further up the field to get better entry into the forward line.

Jones looked OK on a Wing .....suits him better than HBF

Hear what you're saying and recognise these are pretty good players BUT, in our endless search for A graders, we don't want to fill up with any Malinauskases ................... unless of course we have a bunch of spots as we have finally offloaded a few that have ended their contracts and need to be gone.

I want more Dawsons and Rankines and fewer Keays
I see what you did there, quality post, very clever

Have you heard about this salary cap thing?

I don't think it will be.

It's so close to Melbourne you could literally drive home on your days off.

I can see it being like the Tassie shield team, a really popular place for players to go to.
Using that logic players could drive home from Adelaide on weekends off too

IF you can't convince players to come to Adelaide .....good luck trying to get players to Tasmania

Tasmania will be another Gold Coast fiasco .....we're spreading the talent base thinner & thinner .....the game, instead of being uber-elite as a sport, will be populated with more & more mediocre players

Look at the idiocy of growing the AFLW to 18 teams in a couple of years ......the standard this year was crap .....in its infancy, you had to make AFLW the elite womens comp .....the AFL have set the AFLW back 5-7 years, because of political decisions to appease all AFL Clubs
Flawed equivalence

I like Parnell, not sure what to make of him.

Seems so small.

Days after the Brownlow Medal was targeted by suspicious allegations, it can be revealed that the threat of organised crime is rising and its tentacles run deeper than ever.

chael Pell is the alleged umpire involved in the Brownlow Medal betting scandal.

A surge in addicted athlete gamblers is escalating the threat of match fixing in Australian sport at all levels.
Sport Integrity Australia boss David Sharpe has warned Australian sport is under siege from organised criminal gangs who are targeting vulnerable athletes and officials.

Organised criminals have always identified sport as a way to make a quick buck and nothing has ever been out of their bounds.

Cases overseas have shown criminals will stop at nothing to entrap athletes – including blackmailing them with money loans, recreational drugs and even honeytrap prostitutes

Europol also said crime gangs use “runners” to recruit athletes and key personnel to influence competitions.

“The runners are frequently former sportspeople known in their respective sports environment. Frequently, the runner has personal contacts also with coaches and sports officials,” the report said.

Young, vulnerable athletes with high levels of disposable income are increasingly turning to gambling as a form of entertainment.

The AFL are actually encouraging gambling, facilitating their young assets to be embroiled in gambling .....whilst at the same time putting up a facade of not standing for gambling in the AFL .....it's all so hypocritical

Tasmania helps break the shackles of the Victorian dominated AFL, edging the non-Vic sides closer to 50% representation.

I can't see how they would be a greater failure than St Kilda, North Melbourne or the Bulldogs. And they serve a population higher than Geelong.

It should succeed. Not be a powerhouse, but it should succeed.

Combine the access they'll get to talent with an actual football heartland, I'm predicting they will be a powerhouse.
