A Port related question:

I've always laughed at Hinkley and thought he was a mediocre coach.
His main strength is getting his players on side, which can be a very important part of coaching (as we have seen).

However, the move to drop the Captain - and to make it clear that the team is playing well and so he doesn't have a spot, is an incredibly bold one.
Would our club ever have the courage to do so?

I don't think so.

If Sloane had stayed as Captain and been awful this year, would we have dropped him? Or would we have held on as long as possible, before declaring him 'injured' and covering up the real reason?

Would we have been too scared of the possible backlash?

We won’t drop Sloane even though he’s not captain.

What a horrid game of football that was. And I was quiet looking forward to it :(
Shame that our game clashes with dogs v cats tomorrow night. I'm also at a concert tomorrow night so will have to be following the scores

Review of the game thread on the Carlton board is titled “No end to misery in sight”

No need to read much further than that
