Adelaide are my second favourite team
If we don't go all the way- I hope they do
I had them atop of my ladder at the start of the season (and they were my picks for premiers)
My only concern is that they might be peaking too early
We don't play them until round 23 anyway - and so much can change between now and next round , let alone then!

If Aaron Hall was at a Vic club they would all be cumming in their pants about him. Kid is a gun
He had a very average first two games, good too see he is back on top. Good to see Ablett reply after being slammed by Vic Media

Hall was good all last season too. Feel bad the way he is made out as abletts sidekick

Hawthorn and Sydney both on the verge of dropping over the edge of a cliff at 0-3

Hawks have Geelong then us. Sydney have us then GWS

If we pull our finger out they both could be 0-5 and even if we don't they're looking at 1-4 starts needing to win 14 or possibly 15 of their 17 to make top 4

Sydney can at least point to injuries to partially explain their losses but Hawthorn don't.

It's not often I agree with ep2006 but if we can't beat hawthorn n round 5 at the MCG I don't think we ever will

The lack of first round draft pick is what makes the idea of Hawks being 0-5 even better.

Does a few of these results put a little bit of a different perspective on our loss? Season is really tight, any side can beat any other side on the day. If you told me North, Hawks and Swans would be Owen 3 to start the year I would have looked at sending you to Greylands.

Last season the best team of the season didn't win the premiership, the best team for the month of September won it. We happened to be the best side August.

Long way to go yet, I still believe.

If we had Naita, I would have backed us to finish top 2 this season. Having said that, Im not ruling us out for top 4, especially, if Simmo can rectify certain personnel and game plan related issues quickly.

It's funny, but first rounders aren't everything. If you pick and develop well you don't need a top 10 pick.

Name a recent premier that hasn't had a few top 10 draft picks - Sydney is probably the only one I can think of without looking it up

Realistically it's almost impossible not to have a top 10 pick in your list. Unless you've been playing finals every season for a decade + and doing some very liberal trading.
You should be asking how many teams with multiple top 10 picks have failed to win the premiership.

Buddy, Lewis, Roughead, Rioli were all top 10, while Birchall was 14. That's a significant portion of their successful core (albeit Buddy was only there for 2/4 flags). While they traded pick 9 and a few others to get Burgoyne.

This year they should be looking at their highest pick in 10 years and they won't have it or a second rounder.

Sure, they've done everything well for a while now, but it certainly is a lot harder without high picks.

That's silly. Name a team that hasn't had a few top ten picks.

every team has top ten picks in their side.

Whether teams win flags or not doesn't depend on how many top ten picks theyve had

Geelong highest daft pick in 2011 from memory was selwood at pick 7.
Andrew Mackie was also pick 7. Bartel was pick 8 as was Joel Corey in their draft years

Hawkins would have been a top 5 draft pick had he not been a father/son which only needed a second round pick in 2007

Ablett was also a father/son but I believe he wasn't rated that highly in his draft year despite his parentage

On our list - Naitanui, gaff, masten and sheppard are top 10 picks we've used. Kennedy we traded in was a top 10 pick as well. Sheed would have been had we not traded down
