Only a preseason match I suppose but I'd be stunned if it's not a very very long year for Hawks

I only watched a few minutes but they seemed to be okay around the ground but have nothing once the ball goes inside 50.

Nothing inside 50 a midfield with too many ball butchers. The Cats are barely out of 2nd gear and while I'd expect some Hawks are only in 4th, younger teams generally treat these games more seriously. Hawks just have too much "meh" everywhere

But Sammy Mitchell will save them supposedly??

Be interesting to see a North -v- Hawthorn match, especially given Clarko factor.
It is only preseason lite, but gee Hawks look to have lost a bit of the structure and method that they had developed last year.

But footy is footy is footy, great to have it back, rather watch this than the woeful tests...

Yeah, was looking forward to the cricket in India, but now I'm just willing the footy to start.

Blakely looks good around the center bounces. Very low pressure but he’s reading the game nicely.
You just like his haircut flowing in the breeze, E.
C'mon now, look beyond the Harry Styles hairy styles, focus on his footy and truly nothing has changed from his time with us.

Ok stats midfielder in a plodding side, but not damaging, efficient or defensively aggressive...

(watch him win the Brownlow now).

Remember when he yocked that Port fan who got too up in his grill? Not to mention his history of cheap shots during his playing days. He's clearly violence first operator.

He has the “angry small man syndrome”.

As a player, he was noted for his “unfair tactics”. Look up the infamous London game. As a coach he has thumped holes in the wall of the coaches box.

Understand that elite sport requires participants to be ruthless, but there are times when a more relaxed approach to others, makes life so much easier.

No my time of thinking Connor was the next Haselby is long gone. It was just interesting watching today when he was attending the center ballups how well he reads the drop of the ball& how often he gets the first clean touch.
It was against a bunch of second stringers mostly with very little pressure but at least he’s back doing what he’s actually good at. Extracting inside ball.
Brody, Serong, Brayshaw, O’Meara would murder him in there.

signed up to Kayo yesty so just watching a bit of Collingwood & Carlton. Watched a bit of North/Richmond but was boring - Logue looked heavier to me, more lumbersome.

Only caught the Pies/Blues match from 3 mins into the 2nd, but Acres barely sighted...mostly Hollingwood getting the ball forward and kicking goals. It's only pre-season so you know it's hardly intensity personified, but it's good to see Carlton looking shippy in defence....also Barlow on commentary again.

5 goals straight for Hollingwood now, lol

This is a baaaaad game of football. Very happy to see both Carlton and Collingwood looking extremely scrappy. Cripps kicking out on the full from 30 meters directly in front was * chefs kiss *
Think it's a higher intensity than most of the other games I've watched though. The Dons/GC one in particular was almost non contact
