Yawn classic shithouse structure collapse by a team against Collingwood. Up by 5 points and you let them have a 3 on 1 over the back inside 50. It's like they never watched a single Collingwood game this year. What an embarrassing effort.

Oh well we get a big tough QF now which is good for us in case we aren't awake.

First week of finals shaping to be great:

Cats v Freo
Dees v Swans
Lions v Blues
Pies v Tigets

Excellent for MCC members 👌

Absolutely pathetic Carlton.

Can't wait to play a fired-up Collingwood team at their home ground in two weeks. Such a great reward for finishing two games clear at the top of the ladder.
To be fair we'll also be playing arguably the worst top 4 team since North in 07...

We'll play Sydney or Richmond with a solid hit out in the bank now, and get rid of our MCG tenant finals hoodoo. Handy as we're going to have to beat Melbourne at some point.

The "you need to have a tough game first up" theory is such a bizarre way to rationalise bad outcomes being better than good outcomes. :drunk:

How about instead of coming up with galaxy-brained reasons why having a harder route to a premiership is actually a positive, we apply Occam's Razor and accept the wacky notion that easier games = an higher chance of us winning the flag. We've gone from playing in front of an almost entirely pro-Geelong crowd against an interstate club to playing an away game against an MCG tenant riding a wave of momentum. In no sense is that a good thing.

This is the key. Need to put them to the sword on the scoreboard early and kill their hope of a comeback late.

Because if we leave the door ajar, they will roll over the top.
Geelong have been strong for last quarters this season I believe. Including clutch finishes against Tigers and Port when it looked like it had slipped.

Nope.

The self belief from beating a completely overrated Collingwood team at the MCG will be through the roof. It's a mental barrier we haven't overcome with inferior teams, playing against better teams.

What you're displaying here is irrational fear based on previous results with different Geelong sides. I can assure you that is completely normal.
