Collingwood just don't spook me I guess. Geelong will lose only if they play very poorly (always a chance of that).

To be clear: I'm not saying that the Pies are better than us or that I'm now fatalistic about our premiership chances now being over or whatever. All I'm saying is that I'd have preferred to play Freo as I think it would have made our path to the Grand Final significantly easier.

Somebody was too busy with the thesaurus to construct a reasonably sized sentence.

I'll have you know I'm perfectly capable of constructing unnecessarily convoluted sentences even when the vocabulary isn't pretentiously obscure. My sentences using only basic vocab are just as poorly constructed.

If you look at todays game properly - it is just another example - and theres been 100 + games like this - where the City end goals at the MCG is the favoured end to kick to - it is like they are kicking with a 5 goal breeze to that end of the ground

We played Coll earlier in the year - the Magpies rattle on 9 goals in the 3rd qtr kicking to that end ( and just like Carl today looked certain winners at 3qtr time ) and then in the last qtr Geel kick 7-8 goals to nothing - kicking towards the City end goals

And there have been so many games like that - and you can go right back to the 13 PF - Geel dominate the 3qtr kicking down that end - 20 pts up - and in the last qtr - Haw dominate down that end

When a team are coming hard in the last qtr - kicking to those City end goals - boy is it hard to defend a lead

A lot of people underating Collingwood in this thread, i for one am not comfortable playing them one bit, you don't win 11 games in a row in any season and not be any good not to mention we play at there home ground which unlike a lot of people im not fazed by since we have to play a GF there if we get there, lets not be those cocky supporters who think we are unbeatable, good chance we end up looking the fools.

I don’t underrate them - as you say- 11 on the trot is very good and they believe in themselves. Have to be respected.
I certainly don’t think we are unbeatable- surely nobody thinks that? I know how good the team was in 2007 -miles better than the next team and we nearly lost the prelim. It’s not easy to win a final.
I also think we are better than them this year, so if we bring our best footy, we will beat them. I’m confident that we will bring our best, so we are a great chance. We are a very good team.

True but when they played a strong team last week they were shot. I expect we will do the same

They will come in **** sure on their home deck with that big toothless army baying from the stands.
I believe some of our guys will have a few butterflies in the belly that we may not have had with Freo. Hopefully we can put them to the sword without giving them a sniff.

That show is comfortably the worst s**t on TV, and as a reference point my kids are making me watch Masked Singer

It baffles me that there are producers of footy shows who still haven't worked out that comedy is better when done by, you know, actual comedians, rather than, say, ex-footballers. There's a reason The Front Bar is actually decent whereas Bounce and Armchair Experts are pure, unadulterated cringe.

I think most of us just aren't worried.

I mean, we should on paper beat them. If we do we get another week off before a tough match with more rest but less continuity.

If we lose then we get a game against the dogs or freo that we risk losing but should win and get less rest but more continuity for the tough match.

I've never met a single person who likes it or read a single positive comment made about it. Any time I hear or see people talk about it, it's to mock or disparage the show. Who is this silent audience of people keeping the ratings high enough for it to stay on the air?

No idea. It's one of the most inane shows ever.

Actual comedians I'm guessing probably need teams of writers around them. Must be much cheaper to just put a bunch of grunting grey men out there.

I agree freo is easier as they dont play the G as well as collingwood.

But collingwood are still a very young aide with lots of holes..play our best and we should bear them comfortably.
