Do people think we'll play worse then Carlton did today? Didn't kick a goal in the 1st or 4th qtr and lost by 1 point.

We're better than Carlton so should be favourites to win if we play our best.
And made so many poor choices in that last 7 minutes or so. Last week too. Cost themselves both games.
Geelong are smarter than that.

Watching Freo, Sydney and Pies this weekend and I would have been happy playing any of them.
I absoultly hate that the team that has limped their way into the top 4 by 1 point with a % that has them 11th on the ladder actually gets a true home game as the away team when they have no right to.

That being said I actually now think that Pies are the easiest match up of the 3 teams we could have had.
Their gameplan is straight forward, we saw it today and the moment Carlton began dominating around the ball and getting the ball in quickly to F50 without the Pies outnumber and they turned to water. I don't think the Pies have another gear, they have been playing their finals for weeks at a time now and it won't get the job done, we know full well that you must go to another level to win finals and I don't think the Pies have that. Providing we can stop them slingshotting off half back giving Elliot, Ginnivan and Degoey a run at the ball then I can't see anyway the Pies can put on a competative score to beat us unless of course we kick ourselves out of the game.

I honestly don't understand how its survived this long.
It was OK when Spud was on it because he was actually funny, Gaze is just a moron and it's gone down hill rapidly the last few years..

That best on ground show is also garbage, the lovely Kath the saving grace

Gaze rubs me the wrong way something chronic.

On the other hand, Kath makes for enjoyable tv.

To be clear: I'm not saying that the Pies are better than us or that I'm now fatalistic about our premiership chances now being over or whatever. All I'm saying is that I'd have preferred to play Freo as I think it would have made our path to the Grand Final significantly easier.

I'll have you know I'm perfectly capable of constructing unnecessarily convoluted sentences even when the vocabulary isn't pretentiously obscure. My sentences using only basic vocab are just as poorly constructed. :thumbsu:
I agree Freo would've been easier.

I still think overall we have a good hand because Melbourne have had a so-so season, Sydney are good but worse than 2016 Sydney and Collingwood are not a great team - worse than the 2019 version. It's the "best" I've felt about top 4 opponents in a while. Helped by it being the best I've felt about Geelong in a while.

I agree freo is easier as they dont play the G as well as collingwood.

But collingwood are still a very young aide with lots of holes..play our best and we should bear them comfortably.

Will H&A form against top 8 sides hold up in finals?

Sydney is a bit of a surprise there, still can't see them winning 2 games at the G to win the flag.
Melb did well to make the top 4 given they have played the top 7 other teams 11 times, clearly still has what it takes to win the flag.
Brisbane and Dogs clearly making up the numbers

For all my belief in us, I do think the Pies are dangerous and one thing for certain is that they have enormous self belief.. They'll keep coming.
I just think they are a KPD and KPF short from really being a threat
What about our teams enormous self-belief?

We have that, plus everything else in spades.

8. Geelong has an embarrassment of riches

The Cats won by 85 points on Saturday and were missing Jeremy Cameron, Rhys Stanley, Mitch Duncan and Sam Menegola. All bar Stanley is a walk-up start in the Cats' best 22 and all four are expected to be fit for the team's first final= - Trent Masenhelder

Hopefully this guy wrote Stanley instead of Menegola otherwise he should stop writing about Geelong because he knows jack shit
