I’m sure a doctor /specialist would be willing to lose their license to write up that crap because there’s no way to prescribe the right dosages with crushed medication
There is no right dosage for pain relief - everyone is different

Specialists will say - or use the term - you have to trick your brain into getting relief - and hopefully what they prescribe does trick your brain

I'm not defending Carey at all. I share the sentiment that he was definitely in possession of a prohibited substance. Doesn't change the fact that Crown's handling of the matter has been utterly abysmal. Hiding behind the 'right to refuse entry' does nothing to assist anyone. But is apparently the palatable P.R. outcome for an organisation that stumbles from one reputational misstep to another on an almost daily basis.

Show the courage of your convictions and have the man properly investigated by police at the time. Then you could espouse the notion that your company have some principles and standards that you look to uphold at all times. As it is, you feel almost certain that if it had been 'Joe Public' rather than one W. Carey, this would not have ended the same way. That is a savage indictment on Crown and their behaviour in this instance.
I think crown handled it fine. Guy gets caught with drugs in casino, gets banned and told to take his drugs with him. Pretty standard

Dumb because if they accepted it, it could be tested and he would havent had a leg to stand on... because really, if it quacks, then it's a duck (why would anyone carry crushed medicine in a baggie?)...

But it turns out that he never offered it to security (as per the the witnesses and croupiers story).
All they need to do is send it to court and get a doctor on the stand and ask him "is there any medical reason you'd tell this man to use crushed up drugs in 2022 for x condition?"

The answer to that question throws it out of court

I would doubt they would tell their patients to crush all of their pain medications into on ziplock bag and risk an overdose

He now gets to double down as it's fallen into a grey area. He can get a doctor to get on a stand and say "Yes, I prescribe medicine to my patients and its up to my patient how he wants to ingest his medicine. Some do crush medicine and ingest it with water.", Then he can get some sort of other random specialist to say "Medicine that is crushed into powder vs in tablet form is far more efficient in getting to the blood-stream".

Crown will have to update its policies after this - one way or another. Which would piss them off greatly - as they would hvae to change documents, do some sort of re-training, have staff communications and directives and this will cost them a bit.

The other part that Crown will have to consider is the cost of legal proceedings, potential lawsuits regarding his reputation - as it could escalate into something more costly. At the moment everyone is being stubborn (including the Crown WA CEO, which is surprising) - but you can guarantee there is some sort of backroom discussions being had to try and bring this down a notch. Or maybe the lawyers are discussing how to up it a notch as they will get paid alot more lol.

If it's done properly - He'll get his job back, will have his ban over-turned, but will not go to Crown for 2 years (as a side agreement with them). He will also carry his "medicine" in a labelled box that says 'medicine' on it. Or maybe he will get a pill press and change his powdered "medicine" into a tablet form...

Just gets funnier and funnier
All those people who were on drugs, or carrying drugs on them in casinos have now been put on notice. Well done Wayne, you are a shining beacon on the war on drugs. He's probably had more influence on Crown's policies than the police have had.

Is it, though? Do you actually know of cases where people found with what is suspected to be illicit drugs on their person at Crown establishments have simply been told to take a hike?

As I said earlier, I suspect 'Joe Public' is facing being sat down and told to await the arrival of the constabulary if a bag containing a suspicious white powder slips out of their pocket on Crown premises. Feel like this is a clear case of one rule for former footy star and another rule for nondescript punter from nowhere in particular.

Brisbane board are quite confident, which surprises me. They have been smashed twice this season by the Dees.

You never know though; we turned the tables on Sydney in the 2017 Semi Final after a few prior smashings at the hands of them. I remember Scotty really modifying our game plan and doing things very differently which turned the tables on them that night.

I'm not sold on Fagan as a good tactician. I think he's a great mentor, motivator and good developer of players and positive culture - I'm just not sure he's great on game day tactically.

I think tonight we find out if he can coach. I'll be interested to see if he has tweaked a few things and modified the way they setup against Melbourne. They will never get a better chance to beat them. They're a bit banged up, the Dees..

I've had a feeling Brissie will win for some reason too.

Agree on Fagan. Anyone who coaches from the boundary line I don't really consider them to be a great tactician.
