I didn't see the Ess v Melb game, but what are the implications on that one? Essendon very good? Melbourne very bad? Bit of both?

I'm interested to see what Scott makes of Essendon this year. It's about time they started climbing the ladder again.

Melb didn’t adapt to wet weather football and looks to me like they haven’t really meshed with Grundy’s style of play …they badly need Gawn back

Ess did everything right but the weather was a strong factor in their win

Yeah it definitely felt to me like when the rain set in Melbourne leaked a goal or two. In patches where it wasn't raining the dons were at least competitive too though

I wouldn't underestimate no Lever or Brown either.. Don't rate Brown hugely but structurally he straightens them up and they only had that young fella up forward as a KPF and down and down back the missed the set up ability of Lever.
Credit to the Bombers though, they exposed Grundy and the under sized Dees backs and their rucks feasted forward.

I still expect Dees to be there when the whips are cracking (injury issues pending obviously like anyone) Bombers aren't great but they are getting that magical ingredient that helps greatly at the moment.. Belief

Let the Aints' bubble last a week longer (seeing as they're playing the Wobblers).

All the other 'contenders' came crashing to earth with a thud this Gather round. Sweet.

Just need us to do the right thing against the Giggles and I'll be off to the Bay to further antagonise the Tugger flogs :D

Will be interested to see what Ross the boss does about N.Daicos… tagging type role/ defensive forward role.. doubt he runs around as he pleases and racks up 37 possies. Nicks employed Keays against Saad again and it worked again… Daicos has the potential to move into the midfield and push up into the forward 50, so more of a challenge I would say. Over to you Ross…!
