Yeah, you tell them champ, tradition:

Kicking out Footscray and Fitzroy, North being shunted to Canberra/Sydney/GC,

Abandoning traditional grounds like Waverley so that all the Melbourne sides play out of 2 stadiums,

Rigging the draw so that crowds are artificially boosted,

Giving 'concessions' to Sydney and Brisbane so that they win comps (at the expense of shithouse clubs like yours) to try to convert 'Thugby' supporters,

More games pushed onto Pay.........I could go on and on.

Bulldogs are still in the AFL...you do realise that the 1989 merger with Fitzroy did not go ahead?

Excitment isnt a word i would use the describe Rugby League. If i had to pick a word i would have to go for either "repetitive" or even "boring".
Dear me arnt they both the same .So you find dropping the ball every 5 seconds more interesting?yes I now where your intelligence lies, right in the gutter.

My mind may be in the gutter but my intelligence most certainly inst. Your the one who said AFL doesnt have any rules. Just because you dont have the intelligence to know what they are doesnt mean they dont exist. All AFL supporters know the Rugby League rules but a siggnificant portion of Rugby League supporters do not know the rules to Australian Football.

Wow so you know all the rules in RL do you? well that's because we have rules I might add.

Actually per capita AFL has the highest levels of spectators out of any sporting competition in the world.
Well lets face it if I lived in a City that nothing besides AFL then of course my only option would only have to be attending AFL games. But that's not the case in QUEENSLAND AND SYDNEY as we have so much besides sport!

Not heard of the SL War i take it. Brisbane led a rebel competition without the traditional sydney clubs (sure they had some but other than bulldogs the strong sydney clubs stayed loyal) it failed abysmally.

Without sydney, RL in Oz goes nowhere.

Have a look at TV ratings just in case you want to see who needs whom.

Regarding the dominant winter sport -

the NRL GF outrated the AFL GF.

In addition, the NRL generates millions of additional viewers over AFL when you include blockbusters like Origin and tests, something AFL doesnt have.

As an example, on Pay TV, all the footy codes are shown at the same time - guess which sport is number 1 ?

The top ratings this year in footy this year had only 1 program as AFL, the rest were all RL.

The first State of origin game this year almost got more viewers than the AFL GF. The disavantage of origin is that it was only shown live in 3 states vs 5 for the AFL GF.

Had origin been shown live in all states, it too would've outrated the AFL GF, leaving the pinnacle of AFL in 3rd spot.

Hope this clears things up

Like what ?? Care to name them ??
Given the disproportionate attendence figures V's TV ratings that you harp on about, instead of going to games people in these states are sitting in their living rooms. Seems strange with so many other "options".

Knowing that the AFL is is aussie wide those figures must be very dissapointing for the AFL.

The NRL only care about their ratings.........of course it will rate higher in part time.

But then again, more AFL fans would be watching in groups and in pubs than the NRL so the ratings are always misleading

The only tape that I can see is the strip covering your eyes.

You are the one that said that AFL looks after its traditions, I showed you that just like any other major sport they have sold out to the almighty dollar. That is not a criticism, it is just the way it is. In terms of Waverley, nitpick all you want, you know the point I was making.

I look forward to you coming onto this board and explaining to me why moving the AFL GF to a night game is not stuffing your traditions. It is a laydown misere that it will happen before the end of this TV contract. I think that the NRL night GF stinks, and so will you when the AFL does the same.

You're probably right, because Demetriou is pretty damn corrupt, and despite our code travelling well, he'd be just looking for a bit more cash his way.

As I said, I don't think our AFL is at all pristine, but compared to NRL, it could look that way.

If we dont watch Australian Rugby League which is on during the day what makes you think any of us would get up at 4:30 in the mourning to watch the English version?
