Silvagni is not very good but saints would surely give up something for him he does have a tiny bit of currency.

He's had some huge scalps in his time and some bad injuries. You obviously haven't watched him play in the last few years.

Delisted!!?? Surely he would have at least carried some trade value?

He would have decent value. KPP's don't grow on trees and he is a good one on one player.

Surely Silvagni can't be delisted...was proven this year that Freo has no backup key defender....even if Silvangi is crap compared to McPharlin, they should keep him for depth until others can be discovered.

Rumour is that Garlett would prefer to come back to WA...straight swap for Roberton or Stevens? (Picks may needed to be exchanged too...)

Some cats posters were keen on him a while ago. My assessment was he has been in the system long enough to cement a spot if he's good enough. 29 games at 25 years old suggests he's not much chop.

Keep in mind the posters were looking for an upgrade on Gillies who is pretty much just as good (if not better) than Silvagni based on AFL performances. Take into account Gillies is only 22 I think he should be more sought after than Silvagni.

IMO, both Gillies and Silvagni should find homes

Would GWS consider Pick 15, George Horlin-Smith and Dawson Simpson in exchange for picks 12 and 13? Thoughts?

Why on earth would you want to do that?

Working on the presumption Hmac arrives, one of our rucks may be shopped. GWS are looking for ruck talent, but that with 15 wouldn't get the deal done IMO. I really want to keep GHS, but you have to give something to get quality back. So I'm just trying to gauge opinion on this. Would GWS bite? I would really like to nail a combo of Stringer/Menzel/or quality mid like Vlastuin. So we'd need to trade into the draft.

George Horlin-Smith is showing very good signs. Cats would be stupid to trade him. You don't replace young talent just to get other young talent.

I generally agree with this assessment, but list management can be a delicate science. Sometimes you need to take some risks to really take your list forward. I remember quite a few Cats fans who didn't want to shed Moloney as part of the Ottens trade. How does that look in hindsight? I agree that GHS is an emerging talent, but I'm not quite sure where he fits in the grand scheme of things at Geelong.

Yeah, I get what you're saying. But there's something I really like about GHS. Not sure what it is, but something tells me he's going to be a good footballer. There's just something about him.

Right in the middle with Selwood, Caddy, Bundy, Duncan and Smedts. Lots of poise, great leadership and just a good kid. In my opinion, he's the pick of the upcoming litter.

Geelong drafted Ottens to fill a specific need. All the swap you are suggesting is doing is trading for speculative picks.
15 is pretty much as likely to get a good player as either 12 or 13 and you are trading out a good prospect in GHS, who you have put development time into, to take a chance that you will be able to select a better prospect, that you will then have to develop.

Two absolute bulls. :thumbsu: Top get is Caddy.

Looking forward to the clearance battle between our two clubs next season.
