Anyone seen Perris play? I saw some highlights and was interested in his speed. Is it just me or does he lack a bit of toe?

Lloyd Perris:
The highly talented Perris was again sensational today. Collected a lot of uncontested ball and worked tirelessly defensively. Finished with 22 disposals, 5 marks, 3 clearances, 4 inside 50′s, and 8 tackles. Disappointed he missed two shots on goal.
he has to go to the swans he is elite, great speed and tank very good kick.he should be a divvy 1 player for metro or somewhere

Despite Eddie Everywhere wanking on recently about us (and the other three north of the Murray clubs) "hiding away" kids in our academies, I think there is one set of stats that shows how important the Academies will be to our wellbeing.

I felt for Brisbane when they had five top draft picks want to "go home", and please note Eddie, Collingwood lured Kanezis away from Brisbane!

Here is the number of home state players on the 2013 senior lists.
29 Richmond
28 North, WCE
27 WB
26 Essendon
23 Melb
22 Geelong, St.K
21 Hawks, Carlton
20 Collingwood
17 Freo, Port
16 Adelaide
9 Gold Coast
7 Swans
6 GWS
4 Brisbane

So the four northern clubs have 75-90% of their players living away from home, a factor that has to be managed and as we saw this year, if a player wants to go home, the losing club gets a poor deal in return.

So the Academy can hopefully provide us with 1-2 players every year so that our ratio of players living away from home starts to fall over time.

There were a couple of other academy players that were eligible - Jack Hiscox and Harrison Green, but the Swans decided that empty list spots would provide more. Max King, Anthony Miles and NSW u18 captain Michael Gibbons were also overlooked. So there isn't a lot of faith in the NSW talent base.

I think there is another fairly definite selection for us in 2014 in Isaac Heeney. Can anyone provide an update on whether he is still tracking as a likely selection for us next year.

He is not a Scholarship player, as that scheme is now defunct, and as an Academy member will be subject to the F-S type bidding process but hopefully he can make the selection grade. I'm all for having as many NSW players on our list as possible.
