Which is great until you realise that he had a TOG of 82%. Therefore, irrelevant, given Oliver's JLT game was 9% less.

Any stats earnt with a TOG% of 75% or greater should not be considered.

I've certainly never seen anything like it at Melbourne. He's just about Melbourne's best inside midfielder after 20 games...and we've got some pretty good inside mids.

And he doesn't have the tank yet.

If Gawn doesn't win the Brownlow I think Oliver will go close. Hope that isn't hyping the kid too much. But I agree, I haven't seen anything like this kid at your club.

I think the three I mentioned are a class above the rest.

Then you haven't seen much of Parish play.

Understandable because we weren't great to watch last year, but Parish definitely had a better year than Oliver and arguably a better year (and more consistent) than Weitering.

Mills did better though.

As for the thread, Oliver is a gun. But maybe a bit early for such a thread

Unfair comparison to be honest. He was in his secind year. Oliver hasn't even started his second year yet.

Though Daniel is a gun, so is Oliver

It's the preseason. We had an 18yo dominate and kick 4 goals on debut, nobody's talking him up as a rolled gold superstar. Interestingly though his background is similar to Oliver's, fat kid who wasn't in TAC cup teams, lost weight and got a lot better. Will be interesting to see if they follow a similar path in the big time.

I don't really disagree with the OP tbh, kid will be an absolute superstar, I said on our board that Petracca will get all the attention because he's a good looking fella with a great rig but Oliver is streets ahead right now, when he's got another pre season or two he'll be consistently getting 35+ and just destroying teams on the inside, he'll do it enough this year as well, reckon he'll go past cripps, not necessarily on contested ball or clearance numbers but just ability to hurt teams, also think he'll be better than Parish, that's not a slight on either of Cripps or Parish though.

Thats his debut...he's got this ability to ride the tackle and still fire out the releasing handball, or even just wait for it to weaken and bust the tackle, that almost looks like a cheat code.

And then you get him doing things like this...
