McStay deal/contract is overs and Grundy was traded for unders (given it seems the Pies are still going to pay a sizeable amount of his contract)

Not sold on the Frampton trade either, although granted I felt the same about Catlton trading for Lewis Young last year, and he has turned out to be a very handy recruit for us.
Source? I've seen insane variance in reporting over what we'll contribute there

That would change things. If ND has to be 2 years he may risk the PSD. He would likely get picked up there. Maybe a 1 year contract at Collingwood becomes the best option.

I don't know about that, feels like there is no way back for him now to return to the Pies after his comments in recent days (would his team-mates really want to play with him again?)

What date is the draft? If he isn't traded we can continue with the circular arguments for a few more weeks yet

28 November.

So 6 more weeks of this circus lol (hopefully it doesn't come to that)

It is for a 1st round pick that has shown obvious improvement. And it prob ends up around 28

Out of contract players lose currency, and regardless of improvement, him not being in your best 22 also makes him lose currency. Freo picked up Griffin Logue for Pick 8, and they got very little for him back. Is he worth more? Of course, but he wanted to leave and he was out of contract so it is what it is. History is full of examples. A pick in the 20s is fine.

No. Neither Cooper Stephens nor Olly Henry are spuds. They're both highly rated juniors who have shown talent at AFL level but missed out on their team's best 22. Stephens has had injury issues and as an inside mid was always going to struggle for a spot in his first injury free year. Henry looked ok but ultimately Johnson and Krueger were preferred.

Weirdly only one is uncontracted and only one that we know has demanded to be traded yet apparently that's the one that is worth huge amounts at the trade table (but not at the contract or selection tables of course).
Stephens has had 3 years in the system and has played 7 games (2 as sub unused) and has injury issues. Contracted.
Henry has had 2 years in the system and has played 25 games. Incontracted. He is 18 months younger then Stephens.

I know which one I would prefer.

And that is where Wright, who is normally very benevolent when trading, disagrees. Doesn't really matter what us fans think.

I believe Wright knows exactly what he is doing here. Mackie, I am not so sure...

yet low ball him at the contract table :D
We didnt, thats a scuttlebut rumour. Everyone including Ollie knows we rate him and want to keep him.

Mackie has got everything else he wanted with minimum fuss. I would suggest he knows exactly what he is doing.

You were lucky you were dealing with 2 clubs who are basket cases in sun's and giants, and I am not sure the pick swap with bris looks a good deal.

Henry may end up being his best work, but he has pissed off Wright and the pies in the mean time.

Mackie has traded in almost everything he can bar the 1st rounders with this one. Maybe the Pies fold or maybe we split the pot or maybe we get a little more out of the trade. Mackie certainly gave up a lot to get that pick 25. Maybe he is confident that Henry will go with the draft if push comes to shove.

If a club was paying multiple players to play for other teams would you describe that club as a basket case?

We definitely have been a basket case in certain areas over recent years, but I am pretty sure most of those ares have been fixed.

There are rumours we have sorted grundy contract in one hit and our Treloar money may finish next season, but I am not 100% sure on that.
