No, I did not, but yes, many did. I don't think racially-motivated booing is quite comparable to that of players who leave a club though. Diminishes what Goodes experienced IMO
I don’t think it’s comparable to racially motivated booing, but the many who did said it wasn’t racially motivated. A player who has seen out the terms of his contract and opted to leave warrants booing though? That kid you’ll boo? I’m just trying to understand where you draw the line. I reserve booing for cheap shots on the day personally, but that’s me.

Booing is for losers full stop. It’s ****ing embarrassing and anyone who has graduated primary school who boos should be embarrassed

The boy has got a spine. He has the strength in his convictions to stand up to the almighty Collingwood Football Club. The boy doesn’t fold under pressure, it must really grate that a character like that wants to leave your club.
What a load of rubbish 😂

Mackie has got everything else he wanted with minimum fuss. I would suggest he knows exactly what he is doing.
Mackie has all the pressure on him.

This stuff isn't even Wright's job. It's beneath his pay scale and he's doing it for free.

Mackie is new to the game and has steered his club down a much more aggressive path than they've taken previously. It'll be a stuff up for him professionally if Henry goes into the draft and detrimental to the Cats in terms of a mature age recruiting club, they need to be a club that is seen to get deals done, particularly with the Falcon kid pipeline that they're opening. And there's a definite potential that the AFL tweak rules so that uncontracted players can't be gotten as cheaply in terms of trade due to the get nothing in the draft equation

Looking up the rules he would be able to put a price on his contract in the ND but if he does he needs to sign for 2 year minimum contract.
First and second year players have to sign for 2 years.

I am not sure if he can put himself down for a one year contract if he chooses length over price as I doubt the AFL thinks a player would nominate for one year as a stop gap for a possible new trade after it.

He would be a 3rd year player though, having fulfilled his rookie contract.

Thats the problem for Henry think we would need to retool him from the forward line, but we do have even with retirements coming quite a few mids to rotate.

You can look at it in so many ways.. Henry is a unique player. Has the x factor. He might actually improve Geelong. Add something different. It's not all.. oh.. but we've got a 31 yr old Rohan in the side.

To be fair, I’ve only read about it in context of Dunkley putting a high, like, really high, one year price on his head and then agreeing to smooth it out with the Lions once selected.. where as he could opt not to smooth it out with any other club. You’d think the same applies to Henry given they are both players who are out of contract at the end of this month and owe the clubs that currently hold their contracts nothing.
Playing Russian roulette going into the draft though north have early picks and could easily match his price

again we have numerous players in that forward line to rotate, just not a need to pay overs from our point and if he goes to draft good luck to the club who does take the chance on him.

We would prob rather Henry go to North than a pick 28 or whatever it ends up from Geelong.

Kind of destructive if that's the case. I can understand Pies fans being angry if 25 was accepted for him, but surely that's better than getting nothing at all. He's said he's leaving, Collingwood have zero leverage. Cut and run.
