What everyone SHOULD be rightfully outraged about and pointing our collective fingers of fury and condemnation at and about, is why the hell we have waited 16 rounds before unleashing the IQ. The kid is like some supreme magnificent god, like Zeus, but less greek and more reggae. Just have him kick it in from the oppositions goalsquare, he'll friggin boot it right into the centre square but still teleport like lightning to mark his own kick, then he'll bomb the thing right from the centre square straight thru the goalposts and into the frothing mob. Theres the whole game plan right there.

We need Howe, Adams, Langdon, Stevo, and Varcoe playing. When this side plays together, they all work in unison to be the attacking team we were late last year. Without all of those guys, we're way back in the pack.

As for potting Sidebottom, the guy has given everything for his entire career thus far. Surely we can cut him some slack for the last couple of games.

Next week we'll do what we usually do when we're interstate. Win, or at the very least come close to winning. Plus, we're now the underdog.

Can i just ask a serious question - why have you chosen games 7 pts or less? Is it because the record in 7pts or less suits your narrative better?

In the last couple of years (18-19) our record in games decided by under 16 points our record is 9 wins and 5 losses. See? Look how easy it is to manipulate stats to suit your narrative.

This team hasn’t had any seriously alarming problems in close finishes the last 2 years.
He’s full of shit. Best to ignore him.

In fairness shazzas original spoil was ok but then his arm came down across the shoulder and it was most likely the right decision. We would have been hating it if it wasn’t paid to us. Fact is the umps weren’t that bad. Defensively we leaked late goals, Quaynor gave away a hold when we were 3 v 1, for example.
Umps did not cost us this game. We cost us this game.

There were actually quite a few favourable decisions go our way too.
Pendles did a 540 (not exagerating either literally did a 540 whilst tackled) in a tackle no htb called in the last half.

Umps were not in anyway a reason for the loss.

lol

Varcoe?

Buckley wants us to have 22 Varcoes so he has people to drop

OMFG

On the train with my son who is in tears telling me (channeling Reggie) he can't watch this s**t no more and I am finding it hard to deliver the case for the defence

I can see where he Coming From

Look at the opposition 15th place team who brought no real physicality of their own. The physicallity from us was no better then the last 2 weeks, the difference being the opposition was less physical then both Dogs and especially North.

Hawks aren't world beaters and they also aren't playing a physical brand.

Those stats mean fk all when you watch the game and put them into context.

We were soft again. A more physically aggressive team would of had us looking the same as North did.
A 15th placed team who almost beat WCE last week. I don’t buy this ‘they’re 16th, they’re 17th’ on the ladder bullshit. If ladder position actually meant anything when you took the field, Hawthorn would not have gotten close to WCE last week, and North sure as hell wouldn’t have beaten us last week.

Physicality? im talking about intent, intent to win the hard ball, intent to chase, intent to beat your man, intent to tackle (apart from a select few who i won’t bother naming) I saw all that.

The hardest team in football? No. But, Soft? Nope.

It takes a lot more then simply being physical to win a game of football.

How did the players have more of a go than the Hawks?

Thats a startling claim.

4 more scoring shots, and 22 more I50's....
Losing contested ball by 20, whilst also losing the tackle count and possession count.

Hawks won through their system. Not their superior ‘physicality’

Plenty of run and quick ball movement inside the last 5 minutes. The slow shackles is obviously a deliberate game plan. f’ed if I know why though.
No according to Roughhead who was interviewed after the game.

Anyone know what happened to Daicos? Didn't see him after half time and Sidebottom was limping badly going into the room after the game.

What about those dropped marks? Not difficult either.

We are scrapping the bottom of the barrel now apart from Crocker and Noble, not much left to bring in.

Backline held up well under constant barrage but we really miss Howe and Langdon as Crisp sacrifices his running to help out.

We are playing average football right now.

But lets put it into perspective, lets disregard injuries and who is missing, and purely look at the 22 thats taken the field tonight.

Its an average football team. The 22 thats out there now is not a top 2 or even top 4 team. Its a team worthy of battling for top 8, which is exactly how we’re playing.

I disagree, we have lost to two teams who were struggling prior to us playing them, and sitting 15th on the ladder. Hawks hadn't won a game for a month before tonight.
The problem is, our game style has been taken apart by the opposition, and we have no plan B, once the opposition stop our game style. We then turn into this rabble, who get ball, bomb the ball hopelessly or handball to a player in a hopeless position. Sicily had what 15 marks, from kicks just bombed inside F50.
Not sure what Bucks and his crew have up their sleeves to pull this out of the fire, but to me, this team looks shot.

They also had stars in every other position plus we don't even have a backup ruckman.

Keating was also a bash and crash type physically wore down the opposition and used his frame to impede inside mids winning clean possessions. Handy knocking the ball on after the ruck contest to mids running onto space which didn't garner a stat.

Tell him that Sharni Layton is getting kick in the VFLW. That should brighten him up immensely.

Then Melbourne turned to shit, Richmond dropped off and Essendon never rose.

It may have been tough at the time, but on 2019 form, it’s pretty bloody soft. The fact we’ve lost 3 games recently having only played bottom sides is an indictment on this club. Imagine if those other teams hadn’t dropped off? We’d be out of finals contention. Just be very, very glad we don’t play Carlton twice...

Dave this is the time when I say to you to think about your posts.

Don’t give up on this team yet mate......tonight wasn’t good but I am still invested.

Its looking bad.

I gave up on this year as a realistic chance after the loss to North.

I mustered some guts to watch tonight expecting a gutsy performance.

We got a repeat of the stifling, turgid and full effort and brand of game style.

I’m done for the year. If we win I will be very surprised and celebrate.

Nope, look at north and hawks recent history before us. They were competitive. Hawks almost took down WCE, and North have been good under Shaw, competitve against GWS, and then 3 consecutive wins before that, with one being a smashing.

Don't want to put it all on him but Stephenson has left us in a real bad position forward of the ball.

Let's say the people using Stephenson's absence as an excuse are right.

Doesn't that also speak to our horrible coaching when our gameplan hinges on a 20 year old second year forward who weighs 15kg?

No, if you are gonna go ahead and say you are “done for the year”, you can leave the celebrations to the rest of us. Pick a side buddy.
