Love it. Finlayson / Marshall / Georgiades sets us up in the key forward stakes for years, just need them all to get their mojo back - maybe with a new forward coach or something?

Ryan Daniels in WA broke the story. He has contacts in West Coast, I suspect Mitch's manager told them Mitch was off the table as they were hot on his heels and they told Ryan.

Until such time as we lose a guy that we really, really wanted to keep, I think its just safe to assume that guys are going to stay.

There was really no reason to think otherwise with Georgie, other than the fact that it took a little bit longer than usual.

Never in doubt, he would re-sign. I am surprised a bit by 4 years and not 2, but that takes him to the free agency period of 8 years.

Dont want to put a dampner on things, but does anyone know if his ACL reco was done on his leaping leg. Most footballers can only leap off one leg, not switch between them.

I want to see Georgie continue trying to take mark of the year every 4th or 5th game for the next 4 years.

Think the 4 years reflects the size of the offer West Coast put in front of him.

Mitch is never leaving for money without maybe making too many assumptions I'm guessing Mitch is financially secure. Would imagine he would like security and the feeling of being wanted around the club.

Hope it works out but 4 years for a guy who was struggling to stay in the 22 before doing his ACL makes me nervous.

If he can stop kicking like John Butcher then it's a good deal.

Not something I'm worried about. Unless his knee explodes, can you really picture us wanting to delist a 25 year old Mitch Georgiades in favour of pick 80 or whatever in the draft?

Even if he struggles over the next few years here, a team like West Coast would pick him up for a bag of chips at the trade table in the hope he can recapture his early career form, in which case him still being contracted would be a help rather than a hindrance as we might get something back for him.
