I like the way Port has a nak of retaining players, however I'm not completely convincing of Mitch I'm unsure he will develop into a really dangerous forward. In the AFL you have to have dangerous forwards not waste your time with anything less.

I can understand the trepidation around Mitch, but it is misplaced.

Absolutely he needs to work on his routine, needs to improve his ground ball and holding his position in marking conditions.

However for a 4th year key forward this is a pretty outstanding group of stats. To judge him negatively based on these stats is just being overly impatient of a developing forward, and ignorant as to what he's already done at such a young age.

There's a lot to work with in Mitch, and had he been injury free he probably would've added another 10 games and 20 goals to his tally.

Our forward line is in a good position with Marshall, Finlayson, Georgiades and Lord. Gives us a few years with a really solid group of KPP's we can build around, before we need to find our next options.

You reckon? Finlayson is OK but Marshall has been disappointing this season, Lord has yet to show he is up to AFL footy and Georgiades has some work to do on his goal kicking. There may be some potential there but there is also a lot of work to do and I would be more confident if I felt we had the development coaches to get results.

There's no Tredrea there, but as a group, they are all individually better than a lot of the ordinary second fiddles we've tried to work through over time. Outside of Schulz, Tredrea, 1 Cummings year and Dixon, these are the next best we've ever had. Georgiades could still become elite, Marshall is a top liner despite his average year and Finlayson has nearly kicked 40 goals which is great from a 3rd banana. If he could kick straight it could've been a huge year for him.

It's a solid enough forward line if the rest of the team is up to it.

Or maybe they didn’t want to take the gloss off that and the all Australian awards makes plenty of sense

Could have been a "clear air" thing, could have simply been he agreed to the 4 years days ago and were just negotiating a couple of smaller details before officially signing it, the main thing is he signed and the "they've saving it for when wee go out in straight sets" nuffies have been proven incorrect.

Hopefully Robbie is still around the club to help him through it and show him how to come out the other side a better player.

Agree, I hope Robbie is involved - it worries me that Pasini hasn't seemed to have gotten back to his form pre ACL, he was looking good the weekend before his injury.
