Imagine Ken Hinkley is still your coach after 10 'nothing' years!

Poor old Braddles was always subjected to a bit of derision by boofhead media personalities. Under-rated big time.

Maybe it was those wide-armed Guernseys he used to wear towards the end of his career?

I DJ'ed a show at the Pooraka football/cricket club around 1995. Pictures of Braddles plastered all over the awards wall in every age group. Best and fairest every year in football and cricket. Best team man. Etc. Remarkable sportsman and the consummate professional.

Always thought his Guernsey looked wrong compared to everyone else's...

Wide armed Guernsey... Never heard of it before.

Well that is what my cousin and I used to call it. What would you call it? It looked like it came back from the laundry stretched out of shape.

I think it epitimises Braddles. He wasn't interested in the media, or inflating his reputation. He was completely focused on doing whatever it took to play good footy.

Since he was moved to midfield in round 5 he has averaged a cool 25 disposals per game, and is looking every bit the speedy line breaker this midfield group has lacked for a few years. Stepped up today with 2 goals in the 3rd quarter when momentum had clearly swung the way of the Suns. Has 5 goals in his last 4 games so he is beginning to hit the scoreboard from midfield as well.

This season has been crazy - borderline miserable for many but seeing the growth of this lad has been a huge positive, and at just 22 years old it's not hard to envisage him being a lead star of this team's next premiership midfield group.

Also, I think any prospective coach would be licking his lips at the talent of some of our young players.

There's a TON to like. From tonight's game, Rozee, Duursma, Jones, Georgiades, Bonner, Houston, Burton, Farrell, Drew, Mead, Powell-Pepper, Marshall and Frederick are 25 years of age or less. And then there's Butters, Bergman and Sinn who are also young and up coming who should be big parts of the side in coming years.

This side is built so that it won't fall off a cliff when Boak, Gray etc retire. They just need someone who is going to get the absolute most out of them, because they have the potential to be an elite team in the coming years.

Top post. Fully agree.

If only we had a young promising ruckman in his early 20s..

Pure sex some of the stuff he has been doing from the midfield. Should never be played as a pure forward ever again.

Don't even think it's a matter of should, it's a matter of can. Similar to Wingard, I don't think he can play forward anymore. Whatever happened, he's lost it. Which is fine because he found how to be an elite mid.

I bagged Rozee at the start of the season, might have compared his forward output unfavorably to Rowe's and questioned his contested ball work. But he has made me eat my hat and looks like an elite, fast, skillful, outside mid.
So far this season Rozee, Marshall and Spp have elevated their game into the elite category.

I am feeling more bullish about our list too. We have a decent mix of smalls and a few half decent young talls now running around in the sanfl. I like the look of Lord, Teackle, Vissentini, Hayes and a couple of the tall defenders.
