heard word on maybe this or other threads that perhaps the hawks put up campbell knowing fully well he would say no, in order to just further delay the process, putting the burn on port....
no idea if that is what happened and we will never know, but you guys recon that we would do that?

I'm talking about beyond 2010. Would Hawthorn extend his contract or would he want to extend his contract with the club or neither? If he doesn't stay beyond 2010 is everyone going to be just as upset this time next year if he is put up for trade again?

From what I've heard, a deal was done last night to send Brown and #9 to Port, however when Jeff found out he immediately blocked the deal, and rightfully so!!!

Yes, but if he wasn't intending on staying at Hawthorn beyond next year, why wouldn't he just agree to a trade now?
He can secure a 3 year deal on good money.

Browny will be fine the blokes got heart and if anything it will strengthen his resolve. ROK last year went alright and a certain superstar named Brad Sewell was put up for trade a few years back. Get Sewell in his ear he'll come back better.

Jude Bolton was on the trade table last year, didnt get done and he has come off a great year at the Swans
Brad Sewell was offered to Melbourne a few years back for some hack backman who has since been delisted, the Melbourne bloke didnt want to come and Sewell has become a Premiership midfielder
If you think that most players names arent thrown up at this time of year, you are seriously deluding yourself

I have actually heard this mid this year. Might be a reason Brown is 0% chance of leaving us until his deal runs out next year.

I have heard exactly the same thing about Brownie's management talking to the GC.
If the supporters have heard that whisper then surely the club would know about it?
Could Brownie have walked into Clarko's office and said "what the f**k do you think your doing putting me up for trade?" to which Clarko replied "any truth to the rumour about you going to the GC Brownie?"
Maybe the club should ask Brownie to sign for another year now, can they do that seeing he still has a year to run on the current ccontract?
