As much as I would absolutely love Browny in Port colours, it just wouldn't be right.

Some players are just ...meant to play for their respective clubs.

Archer - North
Wilson - Port
Hudgton - St Kilda

Brown - Hawthorn

They aren't necessarily the best players, or the highest paid, but they epitomise what the club stands for and are just as important as glamour boys - if not more so. They're the ones that will happily pop out a shoulder to save a goal, they're the ones in tears after a bad loss and a great win. The heart and soul.

As a Port fan I hope this trade is true, but I understand how Hawk supporters would feel - as if it was Wilson, I would be absolutely ropeable. Wouldn't have traded him for the world.

Please no, I would be gutted. If the Hawks want to piss most of their supporter base off then go right ahead. Campbell Brown is all that Hawthorn stands for and I wish all of our squad had his heart.

I'd be surprisedif the Hawks agreed to this - you gotta be careful about trading away the heart and soul of a club. Many Essendon players said the club lost its soul after trading away Hardwick after the 2001 season. Can't believe the Hawks would do this trade for that reason. A Schoenmakers trade would damage the morale of the playing group much less I'd guess.

I just hope Brown refuses to leave the club. Maybe this is a little ploy to put a good player up for trade that will never agree to go, but looks as though we have tried to get the deal done and hence, send Burgs to the National Draft for only pick 9?

This is a disgrace, Campbell Brown is the heart and soul of the club hes the toughest bastard going around and hes a backman which is where we are weak. I wouldnt do a direct trade with Burgoyne let alone with pick 9 he is older and has bad knees. If Pelchin does this it is a disgrace.
