Word was that he is absolutely cut (just what I've heard)....as are many fans

I find it hard to believe....but I guess we'll find out soon - Whitey's latest twitter says there was successful late talks this afternoon with Hawks and Power.

Although I guess 9+Brown for 24+Burger seems about fair... .. . . .

Then get a ruckman. Pattison, Hampson for 2nd rounder. In all that wouldn't hurt as bad

Yep that doesnt sound too bad.....It will still hurt if we lose Browny, but I guess someone will probs have to go....

Neither can I really, but I ask myself "What is Carlilse worth?" and I can only really say a 2nd rounder. So.. if we're getting a second rounder form Port for this trade...

I agree though, on the face of it, a pick back is probably more likely, if it happens.

Yeh don't get me wrong I'm a massive Gibbo fan, have always loved the Burgerman and to be honost if the Pelican can somehow possibly land us a decent ruckman as well, even if we lose a good player, I may just fall in love with the man

Give Pelchen the full week is my advice. Wednesday we lose Brown. By Friday we have a gorilla backman or ruckman what would you be thinking of Pelchen then? McGlynn and Kennedy are going to be great currency.

I have NFI when it comes to Port. I'm just talking personal opinion at the moment. He's not worth a first round pick, Port's second round pick is pretty early, so its not a bad one for them to get back and I suspect that the second round pick is a 'fair' sweetner for Brown. They may be emotional when it comes to Carlisle but I think Burgoyne + Carlisle for 9 + Brown is thereabouts, although that's really hard to say definitively because I'd be very happy with the outcome.

Wow - Im still gobsmacked. I dont think Carlile has even been discussed, but one thing for sure in trade week is you never know what might be thrown up. I love C Brown and the way he plays and Id love to have him at Port.

I guess you kinda understand how a lot of Port peeps felt when SB was leaving.

FWIW I dont think C Brown will leave the Hawks and its merely another bullshit rumor...

I'd say Brown is the man. Really wouldn't surprise me, Choco will foam at the mouth over getting Brown. I'd like us trying to address a few more problems first (ruck, gorilla backman etc)

Dunno I think Port would like the idea of a hard at it backman in Brown. Pick 9 is nice also. Will be an interesting morning. I predict pelchen has a few cards up his sleeve.

Carlisle would be brilliant. Does anyone know if he's officially in the mix (ie. out of contract, disgruntled, wanting a move to melbourne etc)?
From what I've seen I doubt they will want to let him go.

But I'm pretty sure Pelchin did say they were looking at a ruckman (not Jolly). Now, if we snare Burger with pick 9, our earliest pick is 69!
So I think getting pick 24 would be realllly handy in allowing as to grab a decent ruckman!

I can't believe I logged off for a few hours after a fairly quiet evening on the board, come back and see it explode into this! I reallly doubt Browny will be leaving us.

Can anyone confirm the rumours of a falling out with players or something of that variety? Only then will I believe this, as I see it is the only possible reason he would be put up for trade.

Very highly, we are building a premiership defense around him. i don't see us losing both SB and Carlise, thats just not the way to work to a premiership team

Honestly i just cant see Hawks doing this deal I just cant, and If it was true I would feel for the hawks supporters, but I would be over the moon.

12 pages and counting... says a lot about what Campbell Brown means to Hawthorn supporters.

Hopefully this is just a rumour... but if it does eventuate (I can't see it) at least Campbell will know how he is respected by Hawthorn supporters and how we have valued his efforts over the years.

He will never be one of the most talented players to wear the Brown & Gold... but you would sure love him next to you in the trenches... or beside you in a Grand Final.

I will never forget the site of Campbell backing into the pack against Adelaide and I applauded loudly at the AGM when he won the award that year for the most courageous act.

Campbell Brown epitomises the Hawthorn spirit - long may he wear our Number 30.

You all have to remember ONE thing! Browny still has a year to run on his contract..They cannot make him leave the club!! Like may others on here I was disappointed to read about his trade being discussed.. BUT, I also believe that whatever Pelchen and Co do, they do for the GOOD of the club, and no matter what that is, I will remain a loyal supporter and member of the HFC..I love Browny, like we all do, but the club is bigger than an individual, and if they think we can get to GF with a better team next year, then I am all for it!! Please, people, don't become like the tiger,and carlton supporters who eat their own!! Remain loyal to the club, they need you!!

In absolute shock. Its past midnight overseas where I am but just the thought of Browny going has meant that I have to stay up. A joke if so. Don't care about getting Carlisle or the second rounder, you are ticking a lot of people. Plus the thought of an Old Scotch boy at Alberton, haha. The place is full of unidentified objects for anybody who has never been to the place.
