And what do many people think we are?

We are what we are and that's what people are criticising. Our actual finishing position. Isnt that bad enough?

Our actual finishing position is not a true reflection of where this team should be finishing. Agreed?

I think we are a middle class 10-14 win a season club. We aren't bottom 4, and we aren't top 4, until we actually bloody win close games, ie the ones we are expected to win and against the better sides.

Yeah. We've horribly underperformed and that's what people are annoyed at. What's your point?

That trading out your future first is backing in the on field team to perform instead of underperforming, based on the injection of youthful elite talent.

We are now but we shouldn't have been for the past four seasons. I think 10-14 wins is a reasonable expectation now but it shouldn't have been. Our expectations reflect our under performance but also the realisation that our window is probably shut in the short term.

The time for backing in this group and this regime is well and truly past. We aren't getting anywhere with a group of 30 year olds and 18 year olds. We are missing the 24-28 year old talent. This coaching group has shut the window we had open.

10-14 wins reflects we are hopeless in winning the close games. We dont have the killer instinct. So if we dont have the killer instinct I'm not sure you can say we have under performed.

2016 was stuffed up by CAS suspensions, lots of injuries and having to play a SANFL defence in the 2nd half of the year with no Carlile, Hombsch, Jonas, Trengove forced to ruck.

But the other 3 years we just weren't good enough when the heat was really on.

Yep mentally and physically piss week, this is why some of us have been asking for a full time wrestling coach ,kicking coach and a better fitness program for years.

But nar just gotta work harder.

Think it had to do with the defence becoming more structured meant Pittard's play became a square peg in a round hole.

Yep plus the gun and gun rebound requires others have the same mindset and get in front of the ball carrier.

Yep, added to the fact that our complete abandonment of a forward setup meant that Pittard's style of rounding a couple of defenders then kicking long meant even more turnovers than usual, which killed his confidence and meant he was a fish out of water with the footy in hand.

He'll do well at North IMO because they set up to take advantage of Brown.

Pittard is one player I sincerely hope kills it. Will follow with interest.

Also if anyone suggests getting Kyle ****ing Cheney again they are getting reported

Watts' wikipedia is absurdly huge, if he scored a goal everytime someone gossiped about him he would put Lockett to shame. but he doesn't so why is there so much written about him
I saw this the other day, mind boggling.

The word count for the main body of text is 6500+ words. There are 226 references. Not a typo. Two hundred and twenty six. 20 words and 1 reference are dedicated to his time at Port.

For comparison, current Australian Prime Minister has under 3000 words and 68 references.

Dear Melbourne fans, holy **** would you do yourselves a favour and get a life

Ken on his course overseas.

Seriously though, this could actually be a factor in our coaches being shit. He may be that 3D come of ignorance.

Dude...you just counted the amount of words on not one, but two Wikipedia pages. One of which was on Scott Morrison.

I’m not sure Melbourne fans are the people who you should be worried about here :p

You might have given up on them. But are you seriously expecting the club to give up on itself? Geez, I know people here are upset with Ken and 2019, but seriously, get a grip! This is Port Adelaide!! We are Port Adelaide!! And the Port I have loved and supported for the last 45 would never, ever, roll over and give in! You lot can whinge, moan, and give up on 2019, but I refuse to, and damn well don't want my club to! I am just as angry as you over a wasted 2018. I am holding up the "sack Ken" flag along with 99% of people here. But the reality is he is contracted and stays, we have made some big coaching changes though, some players are out, some new talent has come in, and will come in, and some injured players return.

Bring it on! We, Port Adelaide can take on anybody!

It took 3 minutes of work-time to copy-paste and check the count in Microsoft Word. I would spend longer wiping my ass each day

If one of those Mt Buller residents is sourcing and compiling 226 references in under 3 minutes then I want this rainman doing data analytics for PAFC

K.

Considering we had a very good run with injury this year, and didn't have a terrible run with the umps (hawks in tassie probably the only game you could definitively say we we were robbed - at least compared to other recent years), I'd say we probably finished higher than our average expectation.

We had the playing list for top 4, but the same selection and strategic decisions cost us. Thats a part of this team now.

Last Day of DFA period 1 today and no signings in sight for Port:
  • Thursday, 8 November: AFL delisted player free agency period (1) closes
  • Saturday, 10 November: AFL delisted player free agency period (2) starts
  • Friday, 16 November 5pm: AFL delisted player free agency period (2) closes
  • Friday, 23 November 1.30pm – 2.30pm: AFL delisted player free agency period (3)
  • Tuesday, 27 November 2pm: Final AFL club list lodgement

Agreed, a team with extreme talent and potential that has never been bought to the forefront.

Under performed,developed and taught.
