They are not victims, loads of them voted due to racism and wanting to punch down on someone else, they aren't wide eyed innocent victims, this is just the way right wing Americans are.

People need to realise these people's votes will never change, and a lot of them aren't good people either, they are just pissed that Trump is hurting them and not the "others"

If Trump is on the ballot 4 years from now, these people vote for him again with no hesitation

All of them are racist aholes are they? Everyone of them is a bigot. Really! Just who is the bigot here, them or you?

Did they? Trump lied to them. Sure they should have known better, but he still lied.

As the saying goes

"You can fool all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time"

Just because they are the fools that can be fooled all of the time are we to abandon our compassion. If so what does that make us? Now don't get me wrong, if Republican party members and other enablers get their faces eaten, I will cheer along. But ordinary Joe or Jill, no so much.
You raise a good point. As a society (MAGA turds excepted) we’ve decided it’s wrong to discriminate against people on the basis of things they can’t help, like their skin colour, their gender, their appearance, their disabilities.

But is it right to discriminate against people for their stupidity?

Is stupidity a disability?

What is the cut-off point between intellectual impairment and plain stupidity?

Ah yes, I am the bigot because I call out bigots, typical centrism right here, fellas

They voted for him three times in three election, they know what they're doing, stop pretending otherwise, the whole "oh they were just misled" thing is getting old since George W Bush got voted in twice, if you don't wanna accept reality then you can keep burying your head in the sand, these people are in a cult and they cannot be changed

Stop babying these people like they are helpless victims, they are 40+ years old grown ass adults, they know exactly what they're doing. They didn't care when he led the Jan 6 siege, they didn't care when he let COVID rip, and voted for him again, there's no victim here, purely accomplices

No you are a bigot because you assume that all Americans, or at least all those who voted for Trump are bigots. That is bigotry pure and simple. Not that I am surprised, the "punch down" comment I have found in practice, nearly always comes from a self righteous bigot.

Not that I expect you to ever accept this, again experience has shown me that self righteous bigots have so much of their self image tied up in their bigotry, that they are a better person than those they denigrate that they are incapable of seeing they are a mirror image of those they denigrate.

They have been conned by his lies. Too late now

Zero pity for her, not voting for Democrats because of Abortion issue, so she felt the need to mess with other peoples health decisions that had zero effect on her life, but now wants pity because of her choice, and even worse she now says she would not vote at all, terrible attitude to have.

Here comes one of them enlightened centrists trying to accuse anyone of calling out bigots being a bigot, like both things are equal, the absolute idiocy of you people, throwing words around like you know what they mean.

In fact you're more likely to be a bigot because you sympathize and mollycoddle bigots tbh, so you're more of a bigot than I am

The self righteous bigots are at the Trump side, the ones crying "woke" and "trans" and "immigrants" and "DEI" and "border security", but you have too much of a savior complex thinking there's a way to save these GOP voters that you fail to see anything.

Kamala Harris wheeled out the Cheneys trying to appeal to GOP voters to jump sides like an idiot, do you know what happened? 97% republicans voted Trump anyway, higher percentage than democrats voting democrats. You don't live in reality if you think these people are just "misled", and if you think people who wise up to these right wing voters are the problem, then you too are a fool

Who would you have voted for?

Did they really, or were they gullible, stupid, ignorant, conned by a conman. I refuse to blame the victim of the conman, sure, they should have known better. But clearly they did not.
I think the majority are unengaged, low info sorts who don't parse the white noise of a campaign. Trump had a sparkle value for these people, and the media they consume most likely never contradicted Trump's lies. These are the people who didn't know that the evil Obamacare was their ACA. They know somewhere inside that they use Medicare or Medicaid, but when they've heard someone droning on about it being an entitlement etc, they tune out like a kid in a lecture hall class. I'd bet they also didn't know what tariff's did.
These people are probably the majority of the population, and are also the most susceptible to, as you say, the conman sort of politician. He is so over the top, he catches their attention but that's all. He's a star after all.

What do you call someone that voted for a bigot three times?

You call me a centrist. What is a centrist? Given I was a union organizer and the only time I voted liberal was Rudd's second election. That I regard the Democrats as a conservative party using divide and rule tactics to trick the working class to vote from them. But its always the way with extremists on either side, the Tankies hated the moderate left more than the right. Had enough arguments at union meetings to know the type.

Sympathize and mollycoddle are not the same thing. I can totally disagree with a persons beliefs, and still feel empathy when bad things happen to them. Even bad things they helped enable.

As for a savior complex, when have I suggested they can be saved? My opinion is fools gotta fool, they simply are what they are and cannot be saved. Once I believed if the universe hit them hard enough, the light blub would turn on, but no, it does not.

Of course they were mislead. Being lied to means they were mislead. If he had told them the truth, would this have changed their votes? Some of them, sure, most, most likely not.

You clearly show yourself to be a left wing self righteous bigot. A creature that is as bigoted and dangerous as right wing bigots. What is your solution to this problem comrade, reeducation camps, gulags, maybe good old concentration camps. Or just fix elections so they cannot do so much damage.

What you are doing and are unwilling to accept is that you are dehumanizing people because you disagree with them. In the just the same way they are. Guess what both are wrong.

It isn't a tragedy, it's Darwinism, they knew what they were doing, they get what they deserved. Can't play the victim

Enjoying the leopard eating their faces tbh
Sure, enjoy the leopards eating the faces of those who voted for it, but don't forget that plenty voted for the alternative and they are getting their faces eaten too.

I felt sorry for that woman for 98% of that clip.

Until she said that if she had her time over, she wouldn’t have voted for anyone.
Yep, they are a big part of the reason why Trump was elected.

Tis a bit of a trolley problem. Fascism through the front door or vote for genocide for some people you never would have known anyway?

I don't fault the people who considered that and abstained.

Low critical thinking skills or motivation + lies from public figures + misplaced trust in info sources + rusted on voting inertia is a recipe for disaster.

Yes and add some innate chauvinism and prejudice for some.

Sure, democrat voters don't deserve it, they also don't deserve the feckless party they voted for, but they are a small percentage of the American population, the majority either didn't vote (which is equal to making a choice) or voted for Trump, I have no sympathy for those

In fact the only sympathy I really have are Ukraine, they didn't choose any of this and they get ****ed over the most

I hope Canada flick the switch off the electricity tbh, it'd be funny

I wouldn't call 75 million a "small percentage" of the US population........

The democrats, there was no better choice. And as much as they are not the progressive party they say they are, they are still an order of magnitude better than the present republican party controlled by Trump.
Pretty much how I made my choice. If the GOP of the Before Times had put forth a platform, and really presented like they were staunchly behind, for rebuilding infrastructure and the middle class, keeping the environment non-toxic and getting DC back to at least pre-Citizen's United levels of money, then they would have my vote over the corporate Dem's candidate.
A progressive Dem would have to convince me that they had a sound fiscal plan for any initiatives, and were not going to go all SJW.
It would be a hard choice between those two ideals, but a good choice to have.

This I can agree with, Ukraine deserved none of this, their only crime was to be in the wrong place. Biden betrayed them, by giving too little too late, just enough to stop them losing but not enough to allow them to win. Trump the fascist is sinking the knife in their back.

Rudd's second election, so you voted for Tony Abbot? My god, dude, that explains a lot

They were not "misled", Trump is doing exactly what he said he'd do on the campaign trail: tariffs, mass deportation, etc etc etc. He didn't even lie that much, certainly not as much as 2016 and 2020, he was outright broadcasting the heinous shit he'd do and they voted for it anyway. There's no "misleading" going on

Ah yes, you have more of a problem with "left wing self righteous idiots" yet going out of your way to bat for the American right wingers who've voted for monsters for over two decades, I see why you voted for Tony now, it all makes sense, what a clown

You think I am the one dehumanizing people and not the people who voted for the guy who is doing the deporting and Gaza leveling and Ukraine selling out? You are too far gone, buddy, out of your mind
