Mead had plenty of it sweeping on the defensive side of midfield.

Sinn was better than last week, had a little bit of midfield time.

Evans kicked a goal but not sure he’s putting pressure on Fantasia.

Williams I reckon was average.

I just think we are so stale the lads are going through the motions, 1’s and 2’s, Committee/Board, Coaching box. These lads know the same 24 are getting selected and it doesn’t matter what they do in the twos the same blokes will play week in/week out!

No surprise , squad is now so unbalanced at SANFL level by the number of tall's we will have to play. Unfortunately the running brigade is very average or still developing and the ratio is way out. Going to be a long season in the 2s. Sometimes good form at 2s level can also be a warning for a AFL club because it means that you are full of good sanfl level performers who are listed afl players who perhaps arent quite good enough for the 1's.

Anyways 2's way down list of priorities for the club (it would seem) with men's and women's AFL sides being the clear focus.


Main concern I have is if the 2's are not at least competitive , you wonder what it does to the young player's mindset and confidence being flogged regularly.

Not quite, just heavily out of balance at the 2s level, I think most identified our need to get some height into the squad years ago ( Criticism at the time was we were full of smalls in the 2s) , that correction has happening in recent years with Marshall , Scully etc this year Teagle mid last year and Visente and Lord in prior years.

This correction is going to hurt the 2's , but if Scully and Marshall work out to be quality , then I think rightly or wrongly the club wont care what happens at 2's level. In some ways I think they gave up caring about the SANFL side years ago.

How did Dante, Finlyson, Lord, Pasini and Cluzza look?

Visentini and Finlayson didn't do much. Lord had a good 1 min period where he kicked 2 goals. Reckon he also played down back for a short period.

Pasini ok, Clurey has his moments but I reckon he was slightly better last week.

How was bonner?

Pretty solid throughout the day. If Burton is out, I'd expect he's in.
