That looks bad for us.
Yes and no. If Swamp did a list of bottom 4, or 6 to 10 spots from the finals, we wouldn't look as bad as most of the new sides.

Off the top of my head it goes 1997, 1998, ???, 2010, Kern, Kern, Kern

So I'm leading my footy tips.

The season has kind of settled down now into a bit of a rhythm after a very topsy turvy first 6 or 7 rounds.

But......I'm looking at this round and I see upsets everywhere. Do you go for it or play it safe? Thinking I might go for it. If I fall a couple behind, it's not so far back, but if I pull some shit, I can take a bit of a lead and force the rest to then start taking risks.

Sounds heavy man

So using comparable teams, West Coast, Brisbane, Freo, Adelaide, Gold Coast and GWS have finished 9th or 10th a total of 6 times between them from 131 completed seasons. Ports have managed to finish 9th or 10th a total of 7 times from our 21 completed seasons. Lol.

Let’s just cut to the chase here. Since 1997 we own this.

7 = PA
6 = NM
4 = RIC, HAW, STK, WB

Apart from Norf it’s no contest.

If you're coming first you pick the favourites and rely on the competition pulling hail marys and falling progressively further and further behind.

You have the high ground, no need to descend and fight them.

I am not against it, to be honest. It gives 7 and 8 a home Finals match; 5 and 6 get a bye that their opponents don't; and we get rid of a footy-less weekend.

In reality, there is no difference between a wildcard game and an actual final.

Teams would get just as many to that as an elimination final.
If it happens don't call it a wild card round if there is nothing wild about it

7th and 8th vs the 2 highest percentage teams of the bottom 10 would be a wildcard round
I would rather call it "playoff match" like in European/FIFA World Cup soccer or "play-in round". If you win it, then you are in the Finals.

Jonts' Wild Card concept is really interesting. It might spice things up big time.

But that probably means we didn't finish lower as much.

Both Kane and Rucci pushing hard the ‘why is Gibbs not playing, are there things off field that we aren’t aware of’ wagon.
The same one Crapel is pushing about Trengrove.

Gibbs is not playing because he doesn't football very well despite his father having played 350 games for the Camry Crows.

I had a theory that he was avoiding Melbourne (the place, not the team), but this is a home game he's missing, so it must be something far more serious than just hiding from his creditors!!

Because the discussion is about ladder position when not making the top eight.

No it’s not. It’s about who has finished 9th and 10th. Turns out we’re number one at it. By virtue of this fact we haven’t finished lower as much as other teams but equally we haven’t finished higher as much either.
