The two biggest stories in the (all white) football media at the moment involve sticking the boots into a 19 year old Indigenous man and a 20 year old Indigenous man who have both been banned by the AFL for the season.

Just step back and have a think about how that looks and feels for a moment.

Do you think that if a young white players partner had posted about being beaten that the media and AFL would be lenient on them?

I think we are arguing in the same side as well in general with how young aboriginal lads get treated... BUT, my point is - Elijah is a piece of sh*t (if he is guilty of the allegations) and in his case, he deserves all the judgment that comes his way from any angle! As does anyone that does that to their partner - no matter their race, religion, sex or upbringing!

Shouldn’t the judgement come after it’s clear he did it?

All I’ve seen is a rambling social media post that’s since been pulled down. Not enough to be judging anyone, especially not a young indigenous lad.

Quite possibly. There'd certainly be a much bigger emphasis on the fact that it's an allegation made (and then deleted) on social media. The SPP incident (if you can even call a giant racist witch hunt an "incident") demonstrates this.

I never took the SPP crap as racist... more 100% anti Port reporting in the Adelaide media by a Crow ambassador.

I always felt the Ryder incident was a hell of a lot more racist driven though!

To the point, a young black Tyson Stengel gets arrested for drink driving, without a license in an unregistered car - then fails to appear in court... yet this was barely a passing report on the news cycle.
Here in Adelaide, it has a hell of a lot more to do with the team you play for than what race you are!

True but you never know, they were not exactly against Collingwood after 5heir break, nor have they really been in the last month. Brisbane only beat North by 1 point. Sydney will give them a good run and possibly GC. Stranger things have happened in season 2020!
