So teams that don't suffer an injury are at a disadvantage, they don't receive a fresh legged player.

So whoever's not performing at half time, Greg Phillips comes and stands on their toe.

Wait - so Stengle walked from the Crows and not the other way around?!?!?! Bahahahahaha. Even their suspended players are walking out. You can't make this stuff up.
I’m starting to like the Crows ,crap team going nowhere players trying to get out as fast as they can and a Tex and Flog with there match day Comedy capers. Who needs Netflix 🤪

I get a bit sick of the AFL bringing all these stupid rules in every year. One day before the start of the season tells me they don’t know what they are doing.
Wish they would just leave our great game alone.

Does anyone wonder what will happen if a team has TWO concussed players in a game?

Can of worms. It is ridiculous. These coaches whining about "extended quarters" remember footy pre-2020, right?

Pre-2020 when they didn't have a shortened pre-season?
When they didn't have interchange rotations significantly reduced?
When the AFL weren't introducing this stand rule that is supposed to make the game faster
And increase scoring which would end up increasing the length of the quarters even more.

Fischer McAsey isn't going anywhere soon - they've given him Riley Knigget's number 3 jumper!
It's like Hide the Pain Harold in triplicate.

That wouldn't make them look bad, it makes them look like a club with integrity (which is why they wouldn't actually do it). Although sometimes having integrity does make you look stupid.

Darcy Byrne-Jones missed a game because he was late for a training session. Now just imagine that was Charlie Dixon who was late for training. Show integrity and suspend him for failing to follow team rules, or look the other way because he's an important player in the side and he's playing well anyway, despite being late for training.

The latter would be us negatively impact our game day performance so you could call that stupid. Especially if he plays SANFL and kicks a bag of goals showing the training tardiness has no impact on his performance...
That’s why the penalty for that should be pecuniary: x% of the player salary. Make it go to charity or to pay for the team’s end-of-the-season barbie.

A suspension might avoid the fee, but that would be up to coach and player and to decide. This would allow some leeway.

Doing this, everyone would feel fairly treated, while not compromising the team.

As I have said before:

... Let the game develop on its own, just making small common-sensical adjustments from time to time.

... make it a 6-player bench, and set a limit of 18 interchanges per quarter. This would give coaches plenty to think about.

Forbid marks from backward kicks unless in F50. It will help the flow of the game...

IMHO, these changes would be both better than the new sub and mark rules:
– a 6-man bench would make a substitute unnecessary;
– capping at 18 per quarter would increase the relevance of the interchanges; and
– no mark when kicking backwards would bring incentives to take risks and move the ball forward.

Happy with the first two.

In theory I like the third one but in practice it gives the umpires the opportunity to interpret if a kick was backwards or not.
The less "interpretation' we give the umpires, the less those powers can be used unfairly against us or to change the result of a game.

Players dont only leave that crap-show of a club, but they hate them & denigrate them afterwards!

Even when we move players on ala: Butcher & Trengove to name just two, they still love Port.

The place is a shambles, yet their customers still dont see it.

If their board is any indication most of them are waking up to the fact that their club is a shitshow. It's quite entertaining to watch

I wouldn't worry much. There would be mistakes (there always is), but for most cases the decision would be obvious. The key is that there would be more to be gained than to be lost with the rule – despite of the umpires.

I would certainly give it a try in youth and/or state competitions. If it doesn't work, then it doesn't. But if it works, then I would make it official for the AFL as well.
