I think their main problem with Port’s b&w jumper is it is vastly superior and unique. It actually has a story to it.

The PB/Wharf Pylons is one of the few jumpers that represents where the club comes from. Sydney with the Opera House and the introduced species Albert Lake swan; SUNS perhaps, with the red and yellow representing the Gold Coast surf lifesavers; and our nosy neighbours whose colours represent all the SANFL teams except Port. Freo went away from their original maritime symbols and none of the rest bear any relation to their location.
