Looking through this list, West Coast got the grand sum of three father-son players from the pre-AFL arrangements: Ashley McIntosh, Ben Cousins and Mitch Morton; while Freo got only Brett Peake. I though Clem Michael must've been another one, but he just went normally at pick 21 in the 1997 draft.

I hardly think allowing a 150 game qualification for the SA teams would've opened the floodgates, especially when they culled the SANFL recognised numbers for pre-season and cigarette company cup games. Apart from the Port names mentioned above, and of course the infamous Bryce Gibbs, I can't think of any others that the Corporation missed out on.
If they had the current rule in 1996, Chad and Kane would have been crows father son eligible.

i think <player X> should receive a <numerical value> week sanction for his <on-field act> on the weekend

if <player X> is associated with <club Y> then the following multiplication factors needs to be added or subtracted to <numerical value>.

<club Y>
Big Vic 4 = -20%
Small Vic 6 = 0%
Non Vic = +20%
PAFC = +40%

If <player X> plays in a final for a Victorian team than <numerical value> is always a monetary amount.

If <player x> is a beloved son or captain of a Victorian team in a final then <numerical value> is set to zero.

They would’ve got Cale (who was hugely-rated and went to Melbourne with pick #4) and Jarryd Morton too, but the AFL tweaked the FS-rules in the wake of the Gibbs brouhaha, rendering them ineligible.

In doing so, any future sons had by one G. Cornes became eligible for Adelaide via his games for Glenelg, but he continued his run of daughters with Gia in 2009.

Gerard Healy has now had the opportunity to say syndesmosis twice 'On the Couch'. Stand back if he gets a third shot.

Look at lycett getting four weeks for hitting a blokes head into the turf during a tackle, then this bloke getting one week for slamming a guys head into the turf off the ball.

Righto

Bizarro-world.

what’s the line here? If that adelaide player had the ball in his hands that would have been more weeks?

Caroline makes a good point, there's 1-2 teams in the top 4 that may run out of puff and decide the premiership is out of reach.

She was almost aluding that Covid is playing a bigger role at clubs than we thought. Lot of players and coaches looking over their shoulder, more worried about job security, never mind winning the flag.

Richmond have a hunger problem, not an ability problem. 3 flags in 4 years. If after eating a full meal you were offered a marinated lamb you'd leave it, despite its appeal to those in the restaurant.
They'll win this week though - the Suns only stayed with the bottom side on the scoreboard, because of North's inability to kick straight.

That said, given what happened when Richmond played Port, I hope they miss the 8.

It's pretty clear what the line is. Keays wasn't even hurt, whereas McHenry was out with concussion. It's been based on outcomes for yonks.
