Does FishingRick04 have the power to ban people from the bay? :D

But seriously PJ Power mentioned it earlier that Jasper's howlers stand out but really upon reflection he is quite a good player and opposition fans don't notice that, at work I find myself thinking about his run and carry from the backline and the cheeky things he does (that sneaky kickin that no one was expecting that lead to White's goal) that was worth it to see Adelaide fans rage :p.
He's a bit like Westhoff used to be with regard to the malignment he cops and the lack of appreciation fans have for his value to the side.
I also reckon he is establishing a pretty good record for himself in finals, along with a few of our other unheralded defenders, e.g. O'Shea, Jonas.

Going through Adelaidenow comments you can see the difference between where the two teams are at.

"He wasn't best 22 at Hawks but he will be here, If he was good enough to get a "few" games for the Hawks he's good enough for us."

Well **** me dead, If a 25 year old 41 game fringe player at any other club is best 22 at your club for round 1 you know you have some problems.

Sounds a bit like like Heath and Stevenson at the end of 2012 before we traded for them.

David Parkin famously once said - "if you think a tried player who's no.25 at the premier club is going to become Top ten at a new club, you will be sadly mistaken more often than not."

And there is the problem.

There isnt a problem - he will become a fill in player for a while. Both Heath and Stevenson were back down to the rookie list when we traded for them. Cheney is better than that. He will be a good solid player for the crows. Nothing wrong with that.

Heath played only 12 games for us and Stevenson 9, the fact that they got games should show our list wasn't in the best position at that time seeing how both are gone now.

My problem is the endless Crows circle jerk about being top 4 still but needing middle aged fringe players to make up a 22.

Was looking at Angus Monfries Twitter a/c and noticed he made mention of his great-grandfather, so did some research.
Have confirmed his roots, like mine and a few others on this board, go back to Scotland :).. thought I would bring out the Drambuie for a wee sip lol

So how does our recruiting Matt White fit into that equation? A 26 y/o fringe player in crappy old Richmond?

If Richmond had kept all the players they allowed to go to Port Adelaide, they might have won a flag by now :)
And if we kept all the players we allowed to go to Richmond, we'd be plodding, mid table rabble.

Not sure where Stevenson was ever "huge" for our AFL side. Heath was alright but injuries and other gun medium defenders kept him out.

Stevenson was at least solid which was a huge improvement compared to what we were used to in 2011-2012.

Heath IMO was better, could have been much better, but was sadly cruelled by injury.

It will be interesting to see now that krack is in the squad...

Lets not get carried away now. After all, they did have em in the first place
Yeah mate: my last comment was somewhat tongue in cheek. But I'm sure a lot of Tiger fans still scratch their heads as to how they let White go, and I still can't believe we got him. Hopefully their frustration will be even more acute soon, when Matty has a premiership medal around his neck!!!
