We rarely beat top 4 sides, and we don't beat too many sides in the 5-8 category sides either, outside of 2020.

Top 4 - pushed Brisbane, easily beaten by Melbourne, just lost to calton after very poor first half
5th to 8th - good win against Saints, poor against Geelong, beat the bulldogs

2-4 in the above lot and haven't played Freo and Sydney and play Melbourne in Rd 19 and Geelong at home. So balance of probabilities says we will be 2-8 against these sides.

Around Western Bulldogs level are Richmond play twice and Collingwood and will probably be 1-2 against them.

The bottom 6 sides at the moment we are 3-2 against them. Have 3 games against this groups and also the Suns game. If we get to 6-11, (I can't see us being any better than 8-9), the wheels could fall right off.
I was having this conversation with my lad yesterday and he says he can only see 3 more wins for the rest of the year.

We will know a few things over the coming weeks about our team and coach. I believe if Ken starts to become twitchy and play under done players like Dixon last night, we might deduct that Ken needs to make finals to maintain his position as our coach, if we see silly selections like 2016 we are in for another year of Hinkley ball.

2016 we had a shitload of injuries which is why we had the poorest results 10-12 record under Ken.

Carlile played 2 games, Jonas got 6 weeks and then did his hammy, Hombsch hurt his hip and then went in for surgery, Trengove was forced to ruck because of CAS banning Ryder, Lobbe was poor then got injured and 2nd half of 2016 we played a SANFL backline.

White played 20 minutes in game before rupturing his pectoral muscle never to be seen again, Ryder and Monfries banned, Schulz played 2 or 3 games then out injured for almost all of the rest of the year and played last couple. krak or harlett broke bones and missed a few matches. It was horrendous year for injuries.

Yes I remember 2016 well and yes it was a bad year for injuries and I did cut Hinkley some slack but there were some strange selections made from memory, a small to replace a tall and so on.

There's no way I'd be predicting anything based on the current performance of teams this season.

Certainly is pretty topsy turvey.

What a player, on his day (GF1992 Norm Smith medallist) he was peerless. 1v1 practically unbeatable. WCE used to isolate him on his wing

then boot it out there from defence. As if to say there you go Peter go to work.

Sensational wingman, the best I've seen in my lifetime watching footy (from late 70s).

Mainwaring on the other wing not far behind.

According to 9 News Flogarty is in talks about a move to Brisbane. So they will get Cameron and the pick they received for him.

And Walker might go to a Vic club for a superannuation payout.

Nobody is giving pick 12 for Fogarty 😂😂.
Surely!

I think it was Brisbane who gave pick 12 for Cameron, which Adelaide used to draft Fogarty.

So Brisbane will have Cameron and in a roundabout way the pick they gave up.

The Big Flogger Flog Dog Dog shouldn't cost much.

Ah, I thought the suggestion was they offer stuff up for him.

They've misunderstood. He's going to Brisbane but not to play for the Lions.

Which is why 2020 was so frustrating. We had EVERYTHING in our favour, and totally blew it. We'll be lucky to have another opportunity like that in the next 20 years.

Not sure about the twenty years you can go from outside the 8 to top 4 in one season.
You can even go from bottom to top but you need to clean out the rubbish and that includes the coaching staff and a fair percentage of players. We definitely need to draft quality mids as that’s what todays game is all about.

I was mainly referring to the fact that we had a full list to choose from when it mattered most. We had a home preliminary final, but still couldn't get the job done. Those opportunities are about as rare as intelligent Crows fans :).
