Grant Thomas has some good opinions from time to time but it unravels when it comes to specifics, I mean he says St. Kilda haven't been in the premiership business for a long time but then he wants to poach people from clubs like us that haven't been in the premiership business for ages either.

What was his short list on coaches for the saints Bevo, Choco & Hird lol they are lucky he's outside pissing in & not involved.
Is choco still interested in being a head coach? I was surprised his name wasn't mentioned for Essendon. The Collingwood gig last year he was mentioned a lot but I never heard if they had interest in him, surely if he went again that was it. Club he loves, stock highest it's been since 2008, chummy with the ex-Pres who obviously still works in the shadows there.

Choco is in his 60's it's over, Grant has strong opinions but no idea beyond it.

Billy Frampton getting 3 years at Collingwood huh? He might legit be a 10 year player with less than 50 games to his name. Has that been done before?
Probably will be a first. Some who went close are;

I think Shaun McKernan played about 75 games but he had a 13 or 14 year career.

Jonathan Giles drafted pick 70 by Port 2005, final game of 63 in 2017 for WCE after being on GWS' list.

Luke O'sullivan of Carlton played just over 50 games from about 1987-1997, did tear his ACL on that rubber mat in middle of the centre circle at Waverley mid career.

Clubs aren't stupid, they fully understand that appointing Chocolate head coach is essentially handing him the keys to your whole organisation. Most people in powerful positions wouldn't want to hire people who they perceive may undermine their authority. This is Chocolate's problem.

Fraser McInnes had 8 years on the WCE books for 14 games.

Daniel Currie spent 11 years on AFL list(s) for 10 games

Or you just have strong admin that keep a coach in his lane.

Ten minutes before the 2007 GF umpteen clubs would've taken him as head coach.

I know who Fraser McInnes is but I can't say the same for Daniel Currie. I will assume another ruckman/tall.

Dan Gorringe must be thinking I'm only half a Billy Frampton.

Ok looked up who Currie is and kind of rings a bell. But I did lol at this in his wiki page - Currie is currently employed as a Risk Consultant for professional services firm, KPMG.

“St Kilda’s decision to sack Brett Ratten may not be the only change from its review – they’ve reached out to Port Adelaide list boss and former Saint Jason Cripps about a role to bolster their recruiting team,” Cleary revealed.

Can someone explain to me why Bowes would agree to change the terms of his contract so he received the total value over 4 years instead of 2? If he is contractually entitled to 800k per season for the next 2 years it makes 0 sense for him to take a 50% pay cut unless he thinks he is no chance of obtaining another contract afterwards and wants more time to establish himself as a player.
My guess would be that he wanted to get to Geelong and this was the only way it could happen TPP wise. And as Macca said the total pay he received would have increased but been averaged out over the 4 years.

Shows how much interest I have in other clubs because I’ve never heard of him.
Now when football was real football (twilight zone music in background) I knew every player on every list.
Just reading he was selected by the swans in 2006 and dumped in 2011 playing zero games 😂 Then guess who picked him up Norf😂 4 games there and ended up in the Gold Coast junk yard playing 6 games (that’s life membership for GC).

Didn’t Jason Cripps play like 50 games over 10 years also?

**** off Saints

Nobody on planet earth could resurrect St Kilda.

I don't think Choco would operate outside his lane as much at a club other than Port, or a club not coached by one of his proteges.

Like Melbourne.

Though IIRC Josh Mahoney was footy manager in 2021?
