Wasn't that a Brissy mark?

Holy s**t what a finish!

Thank you Demons you crazy *ers.

It was 50/50, but it’s disappointing that it wasn’t given to the Lions.

This game deserved the drama!

Brisbane fell off a cliff after you posted this. I don’t even think it’s biased to say we are better than them right now but you are right in that Collingwood is the standout.
They did, it was a big choke. Try and save the game rather than win and you cop what you deserve. I still personally think there's nothing between us and the Lions. I don't want to play them in Brisbane this year.

IMO right now, it's looking incredibly likely we will either play Brisbane here or in Brisbane in a QF. As such I think it's incredibly important we hold on and stay above them.

Ive watched 2 gawn interviews and no one has asked if it was pre mediated grab out of boundary throw in under 2 minutes

Huge ruckman blunder there for McInerney to let that happen

I’ve missed it. I was just listening to the TV at the end.

Tomorrow is a big day for us after tonight.
It would be my most disliked team (Carlton).
Beat these fkers!
For me it is the crows and Collingwood then daylight. Carlton are just a mediocre team in last 2 decades who enjoy underachieving and sacking coaches.

A draw wouldn't have hurt us either, so would've been amazing theatre if it was a shot and a miss after the siren.

Brisbane's percentage is unassailable for us, so they are 2 wins from overtaking us and after a draw they still would've been 2 games away. So wouldn't have hurt at all.

What a great game of footy.

But just 38,000 to watch the third and fourth teams on the ladder in perfect conditions on a Friday night at the AFLs 'Home of Footy' is appalling.

This was a game that is critical to the finals outcomes. And the home of footy was two thirds empty.

Meanwhile across town at Docklands - a venue owned by the AFL - 50,000 fans turn up to watch a friendly no consequence game of international women's soccer.

Bloody embarrassing for the AFL whichever way they want to spin it.

Guess the question is does Gawn play next year. If he doesn't then Grundy probably isn't.
Would be funny for 2 Victorian clubs to be paying Grundy's salary to play at Port.

Who'd want max Gawn anyway he used to smash back a quick dart after training.

I know I'm a broken record on this but IMHO the real lessons not just from this game but from this season are twofold:

1. A ruck who is not mobile across the ground and who is incapable of playing a key role up forward or back is useless in the modern game (much like the stay at home Full Forward); and

2. Having two traditional tap rucks, or even just one, is the stuff of history. A high quality mobile ruck who can compete across the ground backed up by a an old fashioned mobile ruck-rover type who can play a key position and take on extra ruck duties is invaluable.

Buckley has said publicly that Grundy is not a forward so getting him to play that role is a lost cause - and he should know. Maybe we look at trading Grundy in and getting him to play the key ruck role given Lycett is on his last legs and Visentini is still a work in progress ?

Imagine Grundy rucking to Butters, Rozee and JHF.

excited andy samberg GIF

Every time I see Gawn have a game like tonight I keep thinking back to us taking Moore and Pittard and leaving Max there for Melbourne to take at pick 34
I would out money on it was because he liked a durry. Same reason we are anti-hayes.

Club has no idea how to deal with talent that enjoys one or two vices.

Dont forget grundy was piss at Collingwood for two years before going to Melbourne. He isnt even close to what he was. Id only be interested as a salary dump tbh. Rather back in someone else with more years in the tank.

Be a perfect fit at west lakes
Just needs to work on his goal celebrations. Trying to turn him into a kpf, as Gawn alluded to, will be like pushing shit uphill with a stick.
And for all Gawn’s mobility he did 95% of his work at clearances. Noticed he took a couple of marks around the ground but swept fa besides
