I've always felt if you are wearing club gear/merch in everyday life you probably need to examine many many many things about your existence.
Not that I would myself, but I'd forgive a few days after you've just won a premiership, but only just. I think you also need to take into account how bloody awful crows colours look at any time.

So it's the Grand Final and the siren has just gone with scores level. Todd Marshall has a kick on goal from 50 metres out with a chance to win the game and the Premiership for Port hie kicks truly but a gust of wind drifts the ball into the goal post and it bounces back into play.

The game is over with no score recorded - the match is drawn.

And yet if Todd misses by say 2m he gets a point and we win the flag.

Makes zero sense.
The thing is you're considering this one situation - kick after the siren with the ball coming back in to play. I don't think you're entirely wrong, but its something I'm literally not sure I've ever seen happen. I'd argue it makes it better in all other situations.

Also if we're talking grand final after the siren kicks, let's say the siren has gone and Port is down by 3 points. Todd Marshall has a kick on goal from 50 metres out with a chance to win the game and the Premiership for Port, but the goal umpire can't work out if its hit the post or not so goes upstairs, soft call is a goal.

The review consists of a crows supporting numpty looking at a couple of videos that look like they've been recorded on a smartphone from 2005 and eventually he decides that the yellow blobby thing looks like it might have touched the white line so calls it a point. Port lose by 2 points.

‪Crows supporters need to organise a protest march during the finals. Maybe during the 1st game Port play at Adelaide oval?

They can all gather on Pinky Flat and sing " What about me" for the duration of the game

Well, there's a little boy waiting
At the boundary with a Crows set shot

Screenshot_20230821_140607.jpg
He's been playing out there, only played half a gameTl
They never ever thought he nail this shot

The ball curls around, he turns to the crowd

Screenshot_20230821_140402.jpg

Then he spins on his feet and he says

Screenshot_20230821_140437.jpg

Right in front of me? It isn't fair
It curled around enough, umpires don't seem to care
Can't you see, we shoulda won
But you just gave 4 points to a Swan

Well, there's a pretty girl serving
At the counter of the Crows fan shop
She's been waiting each year, for a finals dream
Her dreams walk in and out; they never stop
Well she's not too proud, to cry out loud
She runs to the street and she screams

Right in front of me? It isn't fair
I've seen others win, now I want my share
Can't you see, we shoulda won
But you just gave 4 point to a Swan

To a Sydney Swan

Take a step back and see the little umpire
They might be small
But they're the ones
That make the big goals, points
So listen as they whisper:
"no review"

Now I'm still standing in that pocket
All the world's gone home
The score hasn't changed, no top 8 dreams saved
And I'm feeling cold and alone

I guess I'm lucky, I saw 97-98
But sometimes I wish for more, it's our fate

Right in front of me? It isn't fair
I've seen enough, now I want my share
Can't you see, we should won

Right in front of me? It isn't fair
I've had enough, now I want my share
Can't you see, we shoulda won

But you just take more, you just take more
You just take more than you give

Right in front of me?

Right in front of me?

Right in front of me?

Meh it’s all pretty arbitrary. Why is a poster worth the same as a behind when the former is a more accurate kick? Because someone said so 150 years ago.

If you consider goals to be the primary score option and the behinds to be secondary score options then it makes much more sense IMO.

Gaelic football is a good example. Below the crossbar is 3 points (primary goal), above is 1 point (secondary goal) but there’s no prize for hitting the crossbar if it doesn’t go in.

The other thing that sticks in the craw about this Crows' sense of entitlement is the assumption that they make finals without the error.

Firstly, there's still another minute or so to play. Secondly, if they win, they still have to win next week AND have other results fall their way to qualify.

Sure, it's WCE away, but they beat the dogs in Melb yesterday. May not have been the walkover that was expected.

You have to give it to Dimma & his agent in pulling this move off. My guess is the Suns most likely contacted his agent while he was still coaching Richmond. The Suns have a good list which will only strengthen following this years Academy picks. This is a very astute & calculated decision that will probably propel Hardwick’s legacy into AFL folklore.

I’d love it if Crows lost to Eagles so they would have missed anyway.

A few people on the Richmond board also reckon it was all predetermined, and that Dimma's claims about losing his passion for coaching was all rubbish, that he knew he’d be coaching the suns next year and wanted to have a bit of a holiday before getting started.

Ya think !

The Crows have now missed finals 6 years in a row.

That’s officially longer than our run of 5 years when people wanted us folded, and that also includes a wooden spoon, something we never achieved.
I’d still also say they haven’t developed a full young core like a north or hawthorn have.

Albeit, rankine, Dawson, rechelle and thilthorp is a good start.

Stop fukcing with the game it's quirks are all part of it, who cares what other sports do.
The only issue here is that they are already ****ing with it by bringing in goal reviews.

If they went back to the old system and people just accepted that hey sometimes the umpires gonna get it wrong then I'd be fine with it. But right now the goal review not even having some sort of snicko type tech to work out if the post has been hit is a complete embarrassment as a professional sport.

their list profile is all over the shop.. there's a big gap between the dudes holding the team up and the younger guys. The young guys they've also not been ruthless and backed in spuds they should have cycled. Compare to hawthorn etc when they are retooling the list.

The best part is that there has been multiple times just this season when a goal has been called that's clearly not either touched or hit post etc and then the assumption it'd be reviewed on the way back to the middle ( like we are promised every goal is ) only for the game to restart and the goal to stand with commentators bemused.

Dawson is good but he's not young. Closer to Ollie Wines' age than Butters/Rozee's age.

I was aiming at the bellends wanting to abolish a point for hitting the post, the tech should be the most advanced possible.

You will still get errors because even the best tech cannot be 100% trusted, I don't even trust ball tracking on LBW's in cricket.
