Ben "The Great Brown Hope" Keays
I prefer Ben 's**tstain' Keays.
So the Crows did force the AFL's hand to admit a 'mistake'

s**t stain of an organisation

Their Chair, John Olsen, is a former MP, Premier and political party president as well as being the past chief of the SANFL.

If he knows nothing else, he knows more than most about lobbying and pissing in the ears of power to get what he wants.

His goal is to ensure the Crows get a good run of favourable umpiring going into the finals. It stinks but from a crow s perspective, he's doing what makes sense.

We don't have anyone like him in our ranks.

The free kick was there, but no umpire is costing Collingwood a home game with a free kick in the last 10 seconds of a game. They have to live in Melbourne. Didn't hear all this complaining when Adelaide played Collingwood in Adelaide and the free kick count was 28-18 and Fogarty broke Nathan Murphy's nose with a front-on spoil and no free kick was paid. Swings and roundabouts.

Not to mention the rubbish free paid to that little weasel Adelaide forward Lachlan Murphy in the Showdown and they let Dawson take the kick because they knew Murphy couldn't make the distance, while Murphy writhed around on the ground until the goal was scored. #notbitter

Lol what are you on about

That's literally what we want our higher ups to do. Get on to the AFL and force them to give us some at least semi-fair umpiring.

Some of the takes on Adelaide are embarrassing on here.

Reminds me of a story a former schoolmate told me after his first stint as an intern ...'I was vacuuming the floor when all of a sudden...'

I read an article years ago in a medical journal about these sorts of incidents. It was horrifying.

There was a vacuum cleaner story where the guy didn't use the hose. Severe lacerations resulted.

AFL should've told them to * off

Selectively admitting 'mistakes' is the tip of a slippery slope

There'd be dozens of umpiring 'mistakes' in every game if you were entitled enough to go digging for the evidence

It's not unprecedented. Happens quite regularly and the AFL usually go "the call was correct" but there's been a number of times they've admitted the umpire made a mistake. It happens, they're human. usually they arse cover by saying the umpire didn't have the right view of the incident.

Nah, I call bullshit on anyone who says they haven't had a surprise visit from the curious tortoise at some point during adulthood. Happens to the best of us.

It's notably happened a few times in the UFC. Usually just a big visible skiddy in the undies but there was one female fighter who left poo marks all over the Octagon 😳

Not really surprising, people get the nervous shits and when you combine it with intense physical exercise...

But someone still needs to update keays Wikipedia and change his nickname to "Mr Pooey Pants"

No, glad we don’t have some slimey ex poli at the club who bleats like a sheep.
We are getting a decent run with umps now we have some respect from them. Respect for being a decent team with decent players.

You've missed the point Bravey.

The AFL has a clear rule that it enforces with an iron fist - with huge penalties to players coaches or officials who breach it -NEVER to make an adverse comment about umpiring decisions.

And yet here we have the AFL going public admitting their umpires made A mistake on the back of a club whining about it.

As if that decision was the only incorrect call made all weekend or the worst non call made all season.

There are dozens of incorrect, controversial or non-call decisions made across any single game in the AFL. Why is THIS one any different. And why shouldn't every coach in every after match presser highlight wrong calls from now on?

To be clear - Olsen (I assume) did not approach the AFL about this decision to get it overturned of course. He did it with one goal in mind - to intimidate umpires in future Adelaide games leading up to the finals.

As Ford Fairlane said - it's a slippery slope.

Odd that none of that was front page news and being harped on about.
