Would it be a waste of a year though? If we finish below both teams with significantly less percentage and get beaten by both teams in the finals then it would feel like 3rd/4th prelim loser is just where we're at.

At some point in time we just need to win finals when not expected to. We haven’t managed to do this in the AFL, with 2013 being about the only exception, yet we’ve managed to choke away countless more golden opportunities. So to answer your question OllieKray, yes it would be a complete and utter waste.

Looking at the draw I reckon Lions outfit could win at least 5 more games after today and us maybe 4 including tomorrow and then we will be equal second and they will pip
us on percentage. Hope not though.
I am just taking this season one week at a time. Upsets happen, unless you are playing north or west coast wins are not certainties.

We are better than both of these teams.

Not sure how you can make that judgement of Brisbane as if it is obvious.

There's clearly a top tier Coll, Port, Bris. Coll probably the only possible standout.

Outside that it's a mess of sides that are going to need something special to occur in September to contend.

Melbourne really should be closer, they’ve controlled the play this quarter but their finishing off has been awful. Forward line a mess.

In a year you've won 13 in a row, not making a GF has to be considered a waste. Surely.
